We spoke with our son and daughter-in-law yesterday.
During the conversation, I asked what the boys had done for their mother for Mother's Day. Terra put Henry (our three year old grandson) on the line and he explained that he and Jeffrey (our 1 year old grandson) had made their Mom breakfast in bed. "Oh, that's lovely, Henry", I said. "I'll bet Mommy loved that. What did you make for her?" "Coffee (Henry has been told that only the adults can have coffee, so coffee seems to have taken on a kind of "verbotten" charisma for him) and marshmallows!", he repsponded enthusiastically. I could hear his Dad's voice in the background saying "...and toast and juice and...". It made me think back to those days when our son and his Dad would bring me breakfast in bed on such an auspicious occasion. And to think I used to kind of resent having to clean the kitchen up after them afterwards. So precious now...marshmallows...lolol

Cute story Whitesands.......My brother called me yesterday and told me that his three kids made he and his wife breakfast in bed.......chicken noodle soup and a doughnut!!!! I asked him if he ate it and of course he said "yes!!!!!!" I guess it really is the thought that counts!!!!! I didnt get breakfast in bed being the first one up yesterday, but both my kids made their own and cleaned up the dishes

Belated Happy Mother's Day to all you lucky ladies.
Oh, what sweet, sweet stories...seagrovelover...chicken noodle soup and a donut...that's funn...and ktschris...pancakes! That's what my Mother's Day and Birthday breakfasts in bed used to revolve around. It does bring back wonderful memories (but I still have memories of seeing the fright of a kitchen mess after the wonderful breakfast too lol).

Oh whitesands - I just love your sweet stories about you grandsons!
My 15 yr. old and Mr. JR asked me not to get up yesterday, they were going to serve me b'fast in bed. But as I laid there, waiting & waiting, the thought of me trying to eat on a tray in bed, propped up and all, I finally got up and we all jumped in the car and went out for breakfast! But you're right, it's the thought that means so much!
(Henry would not like the taste of coffee!!)
