Anyone going in August?

Heretics in my immediate family are actually discussing going somewhere other than our usual SoWal place during our already allocated vacation period the 1st week of Aug (a certain significant hole in the ground in Arizona has been mentioned ;-) ).

Hmmmmm.....that happens to me from time to time too. But, I always pout and get my way!! ;-) On the other hand, I have never been to that hole in the ground and would love to see it--just on an "extra" trip--not my beach time!!

Yes, DD and I definitely must meet. It will be funn and we'll miss you, Allifunn, and others. But, we'll have many years to cross paths in SoWal!

I'd love an "extra" trip but wife teaches (local college) pretty much year round, son's working now (and gets a piddle 2 weeks of "vacation" on summer job), and we have to dodge son's band stuff. Even that aside, with $20-$30K a year starting to flow out of the coffers for college in late 2007, gotta watch my 4 digit numbers on other stuff ;-)

Hole in ground is nothing short of breathtaking - still etched in my head from last time out there over 40 years ago (think I was maybe 10).

'spect we'll likely still end up on gulf - if family doesn't wiffle-waffle 'til the very last minute and I can't book something (getting a little to close for my taste already).

I will get there some day--I hope. I think it's one of those things you just have to see in your life--like VEGAS! Hope your plans work out for the beach--too bad you won't be there the third week, but I have a feeling next summer in SoWal may end up being quite a reunion of folks from this board...:idontno: so we could start planning now!
