I hesitate to call him the robo-governor because it's kinda insulting to robots, but, some bald-headed, beady-eyed, multi-millionaire who calls himself "Gov. Rick Scott" keeps popping up on my telephone answering machine. I subscribe to the state "no call" list which has effectively blocked all unwanted calls for quite a few years and it is thoroughly ANNOYING to have to have his voice spreading his propaganda at the tax-payers expense. I've lived in Florida since 1962, and I can't remember any governor ever doing this. To me, it should be illegal for him to do this. Any thoughts?

Although I wish he wouldn't call me, if he is and I have no choice he should at least give me the opportunity to say what I think of his policies. Guess I will have to wait for the election. Also his calls according to the article I read, these calls are being paid by the RPOF. Yes, the same group who used all kinds of money to send party leaders on trips a few years ago.

I kinda dig the new share a little sunshine commercials he's in. I like that they are using all that BP money to promote a little tourism in the state.

Oh, since it's "sunshine", it can't be propaganda. And I guess using some of that BP money to help balance the budget would be fiscally irresponsible. If you like the sunshine so much, you can pay for it. I payed to have no unsolicited phone calls, and I guess I wasted my money.

I prefer longer-term solutions - generating tax revenue and property sales by enticing people back to vacation will help solve our budget short fall problem. People need to know things a-ok here after all the negative coverage from last summer.

It seems somewhere I've heard that the "do not call" list excludes political calls. Since they don't bother me, you can check it out.

I am on the "do not call" list. And "Gov. Rick Scott" isn't running for anything, is he? Hence, these annoying phone calls, which really invade my privacy, are not political advertisements. They are propaganda. If he tells us, week after week, how great he is doing, then some of the gullible in this state just might believe it.

Maybe we should modify the federal law for do not call. I get these from Rick Scott, the DNC, the RNC, state based political groups, and various candidates around the country (I even got a call from Bachmann once). All you have to do is donate once, organizations then trade out their lists. It's incredibly annoying regardless of who calls.

Political calls are exempt from Do-not call. That's how they got it passed.

No idea how to make him stop calling. I got taken off the local robo call lists by biatching about it constantly.

I do think the calls you describe are unnecessary and that the political loopholes should be closed.
