Yellow lab hit by car

This morning my daughter saw a car hit a yellow lab while on her morning walk near Magnolia and Clareon Drive. The lab crouched and looked as though it was going to jump toward her to play, but instead leapt into the street in front of a car. Shesaid it appeared that the dog had gotten away from the owner because someone immediately picked up the lab. It was an unavoidable accident, but upset her badly. Can someone update us on the dog's condition?
