How do you go from seeing cars driving fast to asking about a gunman?

From what I have understood about Walton County officers, is that they are usually not allowed to travel at the speed they were traveling without there being a VERY serious disturbance or threat. So... That is why i was throwing up the gunman question marks.

As for the casey anthony thing.. I was in orlando at disney last week.. and so wanted to drive by their house so i could be on Geraldo =P

I did some more research.. and found out that it was reported, "a man in sandestin at the village with a shotgun"... hence my thread title "Gunman in Sandestin???" could have been slightly correct.

I'm going to guess you did some research - not "did some more" - could have, should have, would have tends to unnecessarily incite. Some of the media does enough of that without us joining in. :roll:

No, I don't have any more information, and you haven't disclosed where you heard your information, so I guess we are operating off your assumptions that your source is valid.

I heard from a friend of a friend who saw a post on facebook with a link to a site ........ that all the chemicals used on the golf courses caused a wild hog to go nuts and the po-po were dispatched to shoot it before it attacked another golfer.:sarc:

I figured it was something more plausable like that......

I heard a guy was taking his shotgun out of the trunk of his car in the parking garage to return it to his home when everyone went Batsheet crazy over it. That's not an official report, just what I have been told by someone who works there. The deputies need to slow down before they kill someone when there is not a real threat IF they were flying through town.

That reminds me of an incident on UT campus last spring when someone called in a report of armed man - it was an ROTC fellow taking a couple wooden rifles from the trunk of his car. My daughter always was in and out of car trunk with her wooden color guard rifle - heaven forbid if someone had mistaken that!
