We do the puppy clip to for our toy too but with a few alterations. We like the ball on the end of her tail and I don't like her feet shaved! Puppy toes although cuter than camel toes, are not cute!!! :rolling:

It's different than for toys and miniatures. You can't see from the photo, but the back of the neck isn't shaved -- it's done in what they call a mohawk. Much of the time they don't do pom-poms on standards' tails. One breeder in CA that we almost bought from doesn't believe in docking their tails, so her poodles have long tails that would look weird with a pom-pom. They still do well in the show ring.

BTW this is Pepper's sister who is #1 one-year-old standard poodle in the U.S. (based on show points).

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Molly and I just got back from a birthday trip to Petco. She got some new bones and a four pack of rubber balls. I gave her a choice of two squeak toys...pig and frog, she turned her nose up at both. The checkout lady gave her two treats. It is good to be Molly. It is also good to be her mother.

We took our dog to one of the big box pet shops to get him a "stuffy". I was looking at a nice squirrel and a bunny rabbit type of thing. He walked to the end of his lead and picked out a very colourful striped cat. Needless to say, the striped cat went home with us. Later that year, with Christmas approaching, I asked my husband what he thought we should get for our boy. Without batting an eye, he replied "A gift certificate!" :floor: :wub:
