Sara Commander for County Commissioner

I wanted to post an update about Sara Commander's bid for County Commission, since there has been some discussion of her candicacy on this Board. I heard from Sara recently and I understand that she has recently qualified to run. She sent me a note with some of her thoughts about important issues for Walton County and our beaches. She is well informed and well intentioned and will make a superb Commissioner, I believe. She is an honest person who has always shown a dedication to Walton County and its special character. And in short, she will restore integrity to this position.

I was very impressed and want to hear a lot more from Sara. I plan on supporting her campaign, although we obviously cannot vote there. And I was most encouraged about Sara's long-range vision for the beaches and the need for integrity in elected office. I hope that those of you who vote (and others who can't but have checkbooks) will join me in supporting Sara Commander for the Walton County Commission. We deserve better than a seat bought almost exclusively by private interest hit-and-run types (my comment, not Sara's).

I hope that Sara will post on this Board some of the thoughts and ideas that she conveyed to me. 'Twas very enlightening and encouraging.
