To me, it's either the Beatles or Pink Floyd. I've watched an excessive amount of videos on Youtube about these two icons of contemporary music. I've listen to them my entire life. From junior high until the present. Even though Pink Floyd peaked a few years after the Beatles, in many respects, they were contemporaries, just completely different in style and content. Make no mistake, I worship U2. In every way, they have been the defining embodiment of the concept of the greatest rock and roll band of all time. I am curious about your response.

A mashup might work. They both have similar unconventional time signatures like 3/4 (Lucy), 6/8, 12/8, (Shine) at least in the verse. Lucy switches to 4/4 in the chorus. Sounds like a job for Phil Retrospector.

Dammit! I was just joking! And someone comes up with something that actually kinda works? (Hint: there's another one, "out there", that puts "Revolution #9" and "Several Species..." together) What kinda insanity are we dealing with!!!? Closure... please, closure...

you don't have a lot of choices. If you want to eat pudding, you have to have meat in your system, otherwise your body will reject the pudding. It's an established medical fact. What isn't clear is, what happens if you eat the meat, but then don't eat the pudding? Will you succumb to meat poisoning? I'm not about to be the guinea pig on that one. I always carry around both meat and pudding inhalers.

The Beatles without question.
What most do not realize is The Beatles put two, or more albums almost every year. Many of those double albums.
There may never be another outpouring of talent like that again.

I think Lakeview's dilemma is trying to choose between two bands whose music could be classified as psychedelic. That's one area where I don't think the Stones made any clear inroads. In my opinion, the Beatles are the meat of psychedelia, and Floyd is the pudding. I think the answer is, if you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you listen to Floyd if you don't listen to the Beatles?

Dang, Sam, I think you nailed it again. It never occurred to me that psychedelia was a common thread in all this groovy, far out music. This, perhaps, is an indication of how pervasive psychedelia has been in our lives. While it once was avant garde, it is now commonplace. Cool.
