Not all forums. The drinking has been ongoing down the street at the bar. So far a few skirmishes here and there, but no true brawls yet.

I haven't been in the bar yet this morning but a few there should even be thrown out of the bar, IMO.

I had no desire to watch the debate last pm....would rather spend a couple of hours enjoying life instead of measuring my BP 🙂 Watched Smokey and the Bandit instead and had a wonderful time remembering that era of my life...

I skipped this one too. But I've seen much about it on Fb. Poor Big Bird.

Me, too. I just wish that Fred Armisen would be there to do his Obama impression.

I consider myself a moderate republican only because there is not a relevant third party utilizing ideals of both the democratic party and the republican party. I believe in separation of church and state. I believe in more local government and less federal government. I do not believe in extremism hiding behind "principle". I do not believe in no compromise "contracts". This brings me to the tea party who are extemist IMO. I do share their ideals of fiscal conservatism (balance the budget) however they are very intolerant of those that do not share their ideal for christian conservatism which brings me to Mitt Romney. After this debate it looks like Mitt is back in the race and has a very good chance of winning the election IMO. I was raised a Babtist but I am very open and tolerant of religious freedom which is something that the tea party can not tolerate. I am wondering how does the tea party reconcile Mitt's religious beliefs? Mormons believe in more than one God, does not put full authority in the Bible, has a different concept of God and the list of differences go on an on. Many conservative people I talk to (family, friends and customers) believe that Obama is the antichrist because of confusion over his connections to Islam yet Mitt has real unchristian beliefs. It seems that Americans in general either support Obama or actually hate and despise him. Has this divide ALWAYS existed between democrats and republican because it seems that there are more extremism in the two parties? Or is it because of this religious intolerance? It seems to me that if it is because of religious intolerance that the tea party has lost one of their most sacred ideals in Mitt. I do believe that MR did a very good job in this debate and I only hope he believes his own words and continues toward a moderate platform that will bring this country back together.

Romney only started acting moderate recently when his poll numbers dropped. As for religion, the extreme right has been demonizing Obama non-stop for four years. He is a very thoughtful and decent guy, and based on Romney's speech and continued secrecy about his taxes, I just can't say that about him.

I agree about Obama being a decent and thoughtful person but unfortunately he has failed to bring the two sides together which is what we need during an economic crisis. We have to solve problems and for reasons that is probably beyond Obama's control he can not get it done. I am very dissappointed in his performance in the debate. I voted for McCain but was probably going to vote for Obama before the debate because I believe he deserves another four years for getting rid of Osama Bin Laden, increasing revenue on the wealthy and his attempt to fix healthcare (which takes a certain brass). However I also do not have an answer for MR's 14.8% tax rate and the way he operated Bain Capital or if he talks just to tell us what we want to hear. I really do not know what kind of President MR will be but I have a pretty good idea of Obama which is probably more of the same because he is a decent and consistent human being. Mitt is like a moving target and very hard to get a fix on...

Mitt is a pathological liar. He makes Bill Clinton look like honest Abe Lincoln. Mitt is the kind of guy who would say "I did not have sex with that woman", while he's having sex with her for all to see, and think nothing of it. He would then become angry, defensive, and indignant when we pointed it out to him.

But isn't it right for him to have sex with that woman, because he is filthy rich and entitled?

I can't help but have a bit of fun with LS. Bur, seriously, doesn't it bother you that the fat cats like Jack Warner and Donald Trump, and a vast number of Republicans have demonized and insulted this president in an incredible way. It's obvious that the wealthy in this country can't stand the thought of a president who might make them the least bit less wealthy. If Romney's tax plan goes into effect, they will be paying less than 1% tax. That's all you need to know about this election.

Mitt is the first quantum particle candidate. He can simultaneously be having sex and not having sex with that woman, and it's simultaneously right and wrong depending on the situation and the audience. As with particle physics, it's probabilistic in nature.

I hope LS is wrong about Mitt but I kind of doubt it. I wish Obama would get serious about educating voters with charts and graphs about why corporate wellfare does not trickle down in this era of monopolized big business. To the life of me I can not figure out why Obama and the democratic party can not clearly inform the voters why supply side economics does not work anymore. I think it is because demand side does not work either and therefore democrats are unclear and confused about what it will take to create jobs an lower the deficit.

I'm not much of an economist, but from everything I have heard in the last four years, the reason for the deep recession is due to lack of demand. The middle class simply does not have enough money to buy things to keep the ball rolling. Profits are at record highs for the big corporations. Exxon Mobile made more money last year than any corporation in the history of history, and I believe Apple surpassed them recently. Everyone says that the corporations are sitting on record amounts of cash.

Meanwhile, Romney, with his buddy, Paul Ryan, have a tax plan that has tax cuts that will add $5 trillion to the deficit, and they say that somehow it will be "revenue neutral" which means $5 trillion dollars worth of government services will be cut, even though there will be an increase in defense spending. This is truly voodoo economics.

The other part of the Ryan Plan is that capital gains tax will be eliminated, from my understanding. Extremely wealthy people, like Romney, make well over 95% of their income from capital gains, as opposed to wages. Thus, with all the tax loophole in place, they will be paying less than 1% of their income in taxes.

Where will the tax money come from to pay for existing obligations, increased defense spending, and the 20% tax cut? The middle class, who have substantially less income from capital gains (if any, at all) will soon find their taxes increasing. They will be able to buy even fewer goods and services than they do now, and stagnation will be worse than we have ever seen.

It isn't a matter about making the wealthy pay their fare share, for the sake of fairness. If the middle class is burdened with even more tax debt, there will be no demand for goods and services to keep the wheels moving.

This is my view.

Mitt plans on raising defense spending dramatically as well. He thinks we are still fighting the cold war against the Soviet Union. There is no way he is going to come close to bringing down the deficit.
