OMG - anyone else care to join me in lamenting the merits of wearing a proper fitting bra? Forgive my candor here. Those of you who know me know that I have recently lost a lot of weight. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit, but I've lost 103 lbs. And I had no idea what bra size to buy anymore. But I was desperately in need of help. Went to Marshall Field's today and asked for a fitting. First thing the woman says to me is, "are you wearing one now?" (I was - LOL! How embarrassing.) End of story - amazing what good fit can do for your silhouette. I feel like a new woman!
Ok, glad I got that off my chest!

Darlene is my middle name, not my nickname
I have tried every dam bra on the market. Minimizers, sports bras, big mama bras with all kinds of structural support built in, basic triangle bras, comfy/saggy bras.... you name it. Can't stand any of 'em!!! Maybe I need a consultation with River Otter as well.
I don't plan to have any body altering surgery in my lifetime, but if I had $$ to burn I might consider boob correction surgery. Meanwhile, they are just big pains in the butt.
Let's burn our bras and set the flappers free for life!!!:lolabove:
Everything tootsie said is me to a T....I could have written this myself gullfriend!
Congrats on your weight loss Linda. I know it is hard to do believe me, but so worth it in the end.
And, isn't it funny how RO is the ONLY man that posted in this thread. I know LL would have alot of funn things to say if only he could get on and post!

Y'all are cracking me up! I'm definitely with those who would get rid of their bras if they could; some days it just kills me to put one on. But I have to admit that the "girls" look so much better with a little (or lot) of support. 😀 It also strikes me that we women always seem to want what be don't have - if we have big boobs, we wish we had small ones. If we have straight hair, we wish we had curly hair, etc. I say we just embrace what God gave us and learn to love ourselves no matter what. One thing I did not do yesterday was get any minimizer bras - though I suppose it's just the opposite of a padded one, I couldn't help but think, "now why would I want to make my boobs look a size smaller?" Kind of reminds me of when I was trying on bathing suits earlier this summer and came across one of these "slimsuits." Put one on and while it did make my waist look smaller, it didn't look very attractive in the places where the suit ended and bare skin began. It needed to go all the way to my knees and elbows to accomplish it's real goal.
Now, wonder if I can edit the title of this thread and add Landlocked's name????
P.S. Thanks all for the congrats. I'm doing it to take better care of myself, but the encouragement really helps keep me on task.

I'm fine with what i have, I just want a bra that stays put...you know when raising the arms, I hate when my bra comes up with them!!! I guess I too need a good fitting.
