A new addition

No, she has had some drinks in the past. They have alcohol at the house since my son is 24. She turns 21 September 27th. But my son relayed to her what I said about her drinking and smoking. I spoke with my mom about the news as my son called her and told her, doesn't seem too happy to me. Acts like she is mad. She will just have to accept things. They are not financially ready for that but will have to make themselves that way very quickly.

Great news for all of you :clap_1: :clap_1: As for not being ready financially, most people aren't and all goes well. Being in loving environment is what is most important and I am sure the little one will have that. You are a lucky lady.

And yes, definately no littler boxes at all! My obstitrician (sp?) informed me of that 16 yrs. ago.

i will admit when my sis said they were having the 2nd child, i was a little apprehensive as they could barely afford my nephew. but then i thought well, that's what i'm here for, to pick up the slack. that's why i buy their clothes, so my sis can get the essentials. i have no excuse for all the toys i buy my sister never let a little thing like lack of funds stop her - she takes after mom. i take after pop, i am more money conscious.

I will pitch in with what I can as to diapers, bottles, formula, baby food, etc. money permitting. We are barely getting by ourselves. Will try to pick up a high chair and walker next time I am at that outdoor flea market, if it looks to be in fairly good shape. Try to buy some baby clothes also. Neutral colors for either boy or girl.

And Walmart and Target clothes are just fine because they grow out of them so fast anyway!

I know, just worried about their finances. They probably are managing better than us though finance wise. They will be ok! I don't think my mother and father, which will be the great grandparents, are very happy though. When I spoke with her she seemed really touchy and grumpy! I cannot deal with that!

Congratulations LadyD! They will be fine. Some of our best times were when we had very little financially. But we were savers, which has served us well. Enjoy the simple things! You will have so much funn!

Heck buy nothing until after the baby showers! My daughter had several and there was very little that was needed after the showers! She even had a SoWal shower from my favorite gulls! ;-)

Besides, they all find out the sex of the baby nowdays about the 5th month or so. My grandson had more clothes than he could ever wear. It'll all work out fine. Don't worry about your parents. They'll turn into a big puddle of grandparent goo at first sight. What's not to love about a baby.

My doctor gave me this information when I was pregant with my first. It took my husband 6 YEARS to figure out that I was no longer in danger of the litter box!!! Boy was he mad! :funn:

Well, I am. Just glad I am young enough to be able to enjoy this little one! Whichever the baby is going to be! She wants a girl, but not sure what my son wants. Me, it doesn't matter to me as long as the baby is healthy!
