My Daughter's Out Defacing Private Property Right Now!

Yes, it's true. The girl is a high school senior as of tomorrow morning and in honor of this great milestone, she and most of the senior class will be out until 3 am rolling the campus. The kids have been waiting three long years for this night, and when they are done, the beautiful tree-lined driveway up the hill to the school will be dripping with acres of toilet paper. As the freshmen parents drive up that hill Friday morning to drop off their innocent new high school students, they will be treated to the Indianapolis version of "spanish moss." The mist will be rising from the river and the grounds will have a ghostly ancient low country look.

And then it will be business as usual, as the seniors are ordered outdoors after school hours in true school detention fashion, to clean up their handiwork, and it will be a sweet goodbye to another time-honored senior tradition.

:clap_1: Good clean funn!!!

I was teepeed for the first time this past spring.
The only reason I mention it is because it did have to do with school. I chaired a function that I did not have the engery to attened after I had spent countless hours planning it. But I threatened all I knew with bodily harm if they did not attend. Well the next morning I awoke to "peach" toilet paper all over the front of my yard. I know for a fact that the paper in question came from our school because you cannot buy "peach" paper in the stores, only obtainable from the janitor's closet at school! :funn:

I guess next time I will show

Okay, here's the update...darling daughter just left for school looking like the cat that swallowed the canary. She and a bevy of cronies, er, co-conspirators, came in last night slightly past 2 am (why I am up so early when I waited up for them??? I must be as crazy as they are) boasting that not only had they rolled the hill but they got all the utility wires too. At least that's what I think she said but I must have misheard because it doesn't look like any of them were electrocuted. And surely they would have been??

I am feeling the love for Philippa especially since I just checked the hall closet and saw that she didn't swipe as much as a single sheet of TP from the household--and it was a mother lode fresh from Costco that would have done half the oaks lining the hill! Now that's restraint.

I hope someone took pics because it's raining away to beat the band, which will reduce all "spanish moss" to a glutinous mess before lunch time!

Oh, no! When you mentioned after school detention/cleanup, my first thought was, "I hope it doesn't rain!"

Mermaid I love the Fyl stories. I hope both you and your daughter enjoy this year. I have wonderful memories of this time with Bethie and her friends. We loved every minute of it. Thanks for sharing her funn with us.

The rights of passage. I love it Mermy. She will alway's remember this. It takes me back to when I was a senior in high school. I was in a sorority and our colors were Green and White. We alway's rolled the new pledges houses with green and white toilet paper. Our motto was "Green and White on a Friday Night". I loved those day's. I sure hope FYL had a great time doing this. The cleaning up part ain't so funn though!!!!

Mermy, my daughter did a similar thing her senior year. She and her classmates took an old Volvo, cut it open, wrapped it around a tree right by the administration building, painted it the school colors, and then signed their names to it. The headmaster was really mad, but the assistant headmaster thought it was kind of funny, so they were only punished by having to remove it after a few days.

My sweet precious girl (and senior friends) went into the principals office and turned it all around. Moved furniture, took pictures, diplomas etc and hung them upside down on the walls. Just generally trashed stuff without any real damage. They then TP'd it. This was an ongoing tradition, and he expected a prank on his car, but his staff enabled the kids and they did a number on him. He was a strict principal and feared by most kids there. God love him he just laughed and took pictures, great guy. That was one of Bethies favorite memories. But hold on Mermie, so many more to come this year.

We used to love rolling yards. I see some around the neighborhoods here & they are so wimpy. I always feel like I need to get out there and show them how its done!

Excellent! Now if you can imagine ten times as many trees, up a steep and curving hill, you have the picture. To see a sight like that when the mist is rising in the morning is something else. Worth waiting three years 'til your an upperclassman. ;-)

jdarg told me about a new thing that's caught on with Louisville high school kids. It's called "forking" and involves sticking a million white plastic forks in their yards. Sort of like what you do with pink flamingoes on people's birthdays, but saying "you've been flamingoed" doesn't have exactly the same ring to it as "you've been forked." :floor:

Let me just say that I am not the responsible party if anyone has been forked lately. Forking requires lots of help- like a carful. I don't think I have enough patience to stick so many forks in the ground, but you never know what the fuure holds....

Oh man those would be a biatch to get up, my poor back. I don't have any trees. Can you believe it? All the neighbors do, so I have lots of shade, but no trees to get tp'd. Hope I don't get forked.

just use a lawnmower. :floor:

I have never heard of forking, but it seems to me that it would be less popular due to the time it would take to place the forks, thereby increasing one's risk of getting busted -- That, and ADD will kick in and only a 5'x5' area will get forked.
