It's possible to quit smoking without looking like a dumb ass too.

You'll note that no medical or government agency promotes vaping, vaporing, vaporizing, or what ever you want to call it as a safe alternative to smoking.

Organic or not nicotine is a deadly narcotic.

Wow. What a sorry sack of trash. Please, Please, PLEASE do yourself a favor, stop by 30A Vape, let the owner make you feel like the ignorant imbecile your post portrays you to be, and then allow her to educate you.. OR...do the whole community a favor and just shoot yourself in the neck with a nail gun. Either is just fine...however, if you choose the nail gun route (which I personally prefer), send me an invite to the show.

Sad to see a smoke shop on 30A that's not dedicated to - like - premium cigars. Seems like this is on par with Purple Haze in PCB, a few rungs under a liquor store. I guess nothing is constant except for change. Here's to hoping their rent is high and their traffic is low.

I have mixed feelings on the whole vape thing. It's probably better to take nicotine through vaping than through inhaling combustibles. So for someone who already smokes who switches to exclusively vaping, it may be the lesser of two evils. On the other hand, nicotine is a substance that alters neurotransmission in the brain. People who use nicotine tend to develop cravings. There are bound to be people who might not consider smoking a cigarette who would go straight to vaping. I don't see how that could be a good thing. That is, one develops a craving for something he never needed to do in the first place. This is coming from someone who used to occasionally smoke when drinking. I know the effects of nicotine. No one needs it whether it's from a cigarette, cigar, chewing tobacco, gum or vaping. It's been over ten years since I touched nicotine in any way shape or form. I feel lucky that I never developed anything more than a mild attachment to that junk.

Thanks for the info but was this comment really necessary? And I'm on board with the Dum.sss remark being out of line but your rebuttal was way off base, especially for a new poster . It's great you obviously support the new folks here in town and I would do the same but these comments were uncalled for and there are better ways to support our local merchants then this path..

Btw, nicotine isnt a narcotic, neither is caffeine or THC. Loose definition, opiates and synthetics along with cacao derivatives.

Is that a typo, or is chocolate really a narcotic? I always thought originally narcotic meant sedative or sleep inducing, so that would rule out things like meth and cocaine as well.

Loose DEA interpretation, class of...not necessarily type of. For prosecution purposes only!

This discussion would go all over the place if pot were legal. If you think topic drift is a problem now....

I smoked for more than 30 years. Quit cold turkey. I've got a good friend that is just as hooked on "vape" as he was on cigarettes. There is mounting evidence that "vaping" is not harmless.

Yes, but it is gluten-free.

Here we go with the Vape. I mentioned this in another post and low and behold, Vape is now a hot topic.

The problem with Vape Stores (IMO) is not the product, but the way it is marketed and portrayed.

These stores resemble head shops that should be located on Front Beach Road next to a $30 a night motel.

The image is not consistent with what this community strives to obtain.

I'm still waiting on the topless bar to pop up. Any one want to invest?

The vape thing is marketed as a stop smoking tool, but it looks like a whole new culture of pipe smoking. The collections of ecigarettes they have in those stores are quite extensive, from basic cheap to exotic collector items. I wonder how many vape smokers ever really quit. I know several friends who use them and really like them. They are not putting them down any time soon that I know of.

I could easily see non-smokers going staight to vaping for effects of nicotine and for the culture of it. I could see a certain segment of them at least occasionally smoking real cigarettes, particularly when they couldn't get a hold of e-supplies.

Just another nicotine delivery vehicle - a very powerful and addictive drug. A drop of pure nicotine the size of a pinhead on your skin will kill you very fast.

If you are ready to quit then stay away from gum, patches, etc. cold turkey is tough for awhile. Xanax helps.

Vaping is not safe, and I predict a rapid decrease in "vaping" once they close the loophole that allows it to be unregulated.

I am a long time smoker that wont jump on the vaping band wagon any time soon. There have not been enough studies (IMO) to determine the safety or effects of consuming nicotine in this manner for me. And thats is EXACTLY what it is.. a different method of consuming a drug..its like people that snort cocaine saying they are better than the ones that smoke or inject it..

Yet, these stores will continue to "pop" up.

Has anyone see the place on 331, south of Freeport? Looks Great!
