Cologne or Axe body spray?

Ladies help me out here. I am in need of some new cologne so what do you recommend? OR should I just run down to Target and get some Axe body spray---cheap, easy, convenient, can be thrown in my gym bag (kind of like the last girl I dated/ JUST KIDDING)...and if so what scent do I get? Next time you all are out and about at a store which sells this, smell it, and then post a recommendation.

Axe. No. Don't be that guy. It smells great and all but stick with classics like Polo Sport or Hugo Boss.

I just finished a bottle of Polo Blue. I wore this back in High School a few times.

Do you like the Ruehl cologne? I personally like men without cologne but with a scented soap and scented deoderant. Like Hugo (or Polo). It's a nice, subtle scent instead of an overpowering "frangrance."

Bsmart, scent is a very personal thing and not only that, what smells good on one person might smell completely different on another. As in good different but maybe bad different. Next time you're out shopping, go around sniffing and buy what pleases your nose and your wallet and you'll have found the right stuff for YOU.

Oh, and not to complicate things, but even when you've found what YOU like, your next sweetie might sniff you and tell you to 1) always wear that fragrance because it reminds of her of xxx which she*loves*loves*loves*, or 2) never wear it again because it's what her former *(&#! boyfriend doused himself with and she never wants to smell it again. :floor:

One tip from the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, (for all guys) is to "Spray, delay, then walk away." Whatever your choice, go extra light. Over time, your nose will become familiar with the scent and you will not notice how powerful it is to everyone else around you. Don't be the person sitting in the restaurant, making everyone's food taste like your cologne. ;-)

Good advice. I usually like light scented colognes anyway, but no matter what a lot is a lot.

I agree about the scented soaps/deodorants.
However, L'Occitane's "Cade" line is very *subtle* yet manly. I really like it.
The Cade accessories run from bath/shower to shaving to fragrances.

yes, this stuff is very nice (and expensive). I recommend any man use nice fragrances for shower, shaving, deodorant, etc., but please leave off the cologne. I love a fresh/clean scent, but anything stronger than that makes me ill.

I like L'Occitane.
I received as a gift some of their incense sticks and they are wonderful. Very subtle.

My mom usually buys me some patchouli scented soap from Patchouli's when she goes out shopping. Other than that I use Dial for Men, After Hours scent.

Yeah it does have some sort of Bohemian, "let's wear this so I do not have to bathe", quality about it, right?

Oh...I do NOT prefer that stuff. I can't take it. I recoil when I smell it. I now some prefer it, but I personally don't. At all! I remember when people started wearing it in middle school.

There's a L'Occitane in Washington DC. There is probably more than one in Atlanta. But since we've been here I've shopped on the internet a couple times.
It is indeed very expensive--but we're worth it. ;-)
And L'Occitane uses pretty good, natural ingredients.

Wow, Patchouli. That takes me right back to 1971...a sweaty concert hall...Santana was playing...or maybe it was The Who....

I always have deja vu moments when I smell patchouli! If you are not standing right next to the person that didn't bathe with soap and water, but soaked themselves in patchouli, you are OK.

eewww patchouli? smells like an old hippy.
I like a man that (wait, I mean I like MY HUSBAND) when he gets out of the shower and maybe used a nice smelling soap. He overdoes the AXE. It's aweful. And please dont get Polo near him. I hate it. If I wanted to smell a high school boy, I would go to South Walton. I have no need for weird smells. BUT I do like to wear perfume myself. go figure.
