Alabama/Florida game today

It looks weird seeing those plain helmets with just a letter F. Did everyone hear what is being done with those helmets? Don't know about the retro jerseys. There was a $50,000 a table benefit towards the athletic department. Everyone that paid for one of those tables for the benefit, and there were 101, will receive one of those retro helmets for their dollars! They are sealed in cellophane to protect them from nicks and scratches. To have that kind of money. Wow!

They did the same thing at the GT game on 9/21 -- called it "Throwback Thursday." I thought the GT throwbacks looked better than the UF ones. I really don't remember UF playing without the cursive "Gators" on their helmets.

During the short amount of time that I watched the game (busy moving daughter into a bigger place in the same complex), Gators didn't look that strong to me, despite the fact that they outscored Alabama 28-3 in the last three quarters. But I sure am happy they won.

I agree, Bama made Florida work pretty hard for their win. That & Chris Leak, I have to honestly say he didn't look that impressive to me, nor did the Gators.

Chris Leak looked very slow on that 45 yard run he had :roll: and the 2 touchdowns he threw were very weak. :roll:

Just stating the truth Kurt, it just eats under your skin doesn't it that your gators didn't take the lead till the 4th quarter & that chris leak only threw for 174 yards yesterday & two touchdowns. Those aren't phenomenal numbers & the gators defense looked like a bunch of hermit crabs on the field in 1960's florida jerseys. Oh & by the way, who was that who fumbled the ball & allowed Alabama to score a touchdown off of it? I believe that was Chris Leak too. Funny how your Gators aren't such a powerhouse now isn't it?

I like the character of this team. It seems gritty and determined to win, which is a good portion of what's needed anyway. They didn't lock it up until after DeShawn Wynn was out of the game, didja notice? Plus it's HOMECOMING.

I am curious though, what do Florida fans think of their intrastate rival the Florida State Seminoles since all this stuff is going on on this thread concerning Florida! Is there as much dislike for the Seminoles by the Gator fans as there is toward other teams???

Rest assured that it goes both ways. I frequently thank the Good Lord above that my daddy, who graduated from the former two-room Point Washington school in 1937, never had the opportunity to "go away to college." (I'm sure I don't need to explain the reasoning behind that, do I.)

Be that as it may...unless something changes drastically (on both sides), my Noles are going to get slobberknocked in November. Leak is a senior, and Tebow scares the bejeebies out of me. He is scary good. Meanwhile, we seem to have some "issues"...
