My son, who shall now be known as #3, brought home a new CD today that is just FAB. It's by Jack Johnson and called In Between Dreams. It's a blend of laid back jazz and acoustic guitar with some really cool vocals. The CD cover is a work of art as well. :clap_1:

That CD has been out for over a year - and I got kind of worn out on it. It's okay, but Jack needs to expand his horizons. It's kind of fitting title, because everything sounds like a lullabye...Meanwhile, track #5, "No Other Way" is oh so sexy, and always makes me want to make sweet love with my lady:roll: ...

That's definitely a favorite of mine. And "No Other Way" is, indeed, a ridiculously good song.
Jack Johnson also did the soundtrack for the Curious George movie, and that one is a lot of funn, too.

And since I just have to impose my music on everyone  here are a couple you might like as well:
Imogen Heap - Speak for Yourself
The Ditty Bops - The Ditty Bops
John Mayer - Continuum

Love, love, love The Ditty Bops, in spite of their name. (try The Roches, too  if you like female harmonies)
www.folkalley.com is a good source for some great listening.

And I love John Mayer's guitar playing much more than his singing, imo. Such talent. Saw him one night on Austin City Limits (I think) and was BLOWN away at his guitar solos.

My 17 year old daughter has been in love with Jack Johnson forever. She's seen him at least once (I can't keep track of all the concerts she goes to :!: ). I'll ask her to dig the CD out because I'm sure she has it and probably a whole bunch more.

I'll have to get this one for spidey since his very favorite music is the Curious George soundtrack (we listen to it every single day en route to school and back). well, his other fave is Marley on the way to the beach - you should hear him sing about 'I went down town and saw Ms Brown, she had brown sugar all over her booga wooga....' or something like that.

How exciting! She's playing at the House of Blues in New Orleans in November and I have a friend trying to get us some tickets. We'll have to compare notes. ;-)

I can relate. It's nice, happy music with a good beat, but... I do enjoy it in the car far better than "I'm a little teapot....", or "the wheels on the bus..." lord help me.

Have I asked before if you have "Here Come the ABC's" by They Might Be Giants? Highly recommended for kid music that's good for a laugh for the 'rents!

No! I'll order it asap. I listen to NPR constantly, but if the kid is in the car he's wanting some funn music, and I can't blame him.

I said to Mr. Pod just the other day--when did I fall asleep and wake up as a 60-year-old liberal who only listens to NPR?!
Tree, there's a CD and a DVD, we have both. Watching the DVD is a hoot because the songs are so funn, seeing them in action is even funnier.
