this is staring out as a Rumble on the Beach 2016 could be a lot of fun to watch. To blame? TDC and county commissioners for calling meetings starting Sept.2015 to clear up last year and now March 2016 and they are still saying," let's get info and resolve next meeting". I peesonally have witness this "can kicking" 4 or 5 times....does anyone remember last years Ghost renters? Where vendors set up chairs and hope to catch a passer-by to rent to? Well it appears this year that's ok again??... because at BMB west side inside private beach signs a vendor sits 8+ hrs a day renting out his 16 setups.....he just sits and waits....

I'm pretty sure that is standard procedure. Set up chairs and wait for someone to rent. I do not know why we can't make decisions about beach vendors and implement. Other beach towns have done so all over the state. If we can ban dogs then we can control vendors on the beach. Beaches need to be clear and available for people to enjoy without lines of chairs.

Oh I forgot the private beach COP,Says He is Paid by home owners to keep their private beach private. While he rents out 16 setups and then place several among the vendors...as he needs ...

I TOTALLY agree with this. If I want a beach setup I will call your company and ask for it. I will pay you to put it at the walkover I want it at but I do NOT want to be confronted as soon as I walk on the beach with a sales pitch and then someone telling me that I have to move on because the vendors have taken all the space at the public walkover. And as far as private beach cop goes..he better have that current topo survey that shows the MHWL before he tries to intimidate me into moving..

Doesn;t one of the County Commissioner's spouse have a "beach service" chair/umbrella rental company?

Look, can't we pass an ordinance that there are no signs, ropes, etc. allowed on the beaches of South Walton!
