I believe that Poppaj is pointing out that Donald J thinks in terms of political ratings when discussing war with Iran. There’s nothing to worry about. A country so easily conned.I don't quite understand the first few lines of your post. What is happening is that the administration is using these children as bargaining chips to get appropriations for money for projects that only Trump and the Repugs want. This is not a goof. This is not an oversight. This is a pre-meditated plan to use real people's empathy for the plight of children to get money for Republican boondoggles. As sick as it gets.
