BEYOND THE WALL..er...walls

JUST A THOUGHT...Doesn't it seem like that, perhaps, there is absolutely nothing we can do about the storms--I mean ultimately speaking. A whopper is going to wipe us out, a small one is going to be cause for continued effort--effort ultimately in vain, the whopper would see to that. I fully realize that all the efforts are stepping stones to solutions however I'm entertaining thoughts beyond the walls.
The solution lies in retreat and super expensive codes. This notion is an awful, potential reality for the beachfront homeowners. However it is no different than the reality already endured by the llife long area residents who were forced out of the area by the rapid rise in the cost of living. I guess I'm saying that perhaps the new era of beach front owners are the billionaires, not the millionaires. Letting go is tough, letting go at a loss is much tougher. Those who have already suffered the break are on to hopefully bigger and better things--alive, breathing and perhaps all the stronger for it.
I believe, anything else to be a big, stretched bandaid.
