Looking for any answers...
The wife and I took a evening stroll on the beach in California and out of the blue my wife was bit or stung by something in the sand. We were just off the wet sand and in the softer stuff but, closet to water as can be. Immediate pain. A little swelling. Felt like she broke her toe. Hard to walk.
We have iced, IBprophin(800mg) and washed the area with soap and warm water. Swelling is low to none. No visible signs of a bite or stinger. Foot is still throbbing. Very uncomfortable. It's 1am and I am worried.
Any thoughts, suggestions? Thank you.

How is she? Are you near Santa Rosa, CA?
Not near SantaRosa. Near Pismo Beach.
Just took the ice off again. She feels pressure at the site. Like her toe nail is going to pop off. Swelling still is low. Hurts to touch. Still throbbing sensation.
