I have been having a lot of memory lapses for the most elementary things as of late. I think it may be lack of sleep? Maybe Dr. Skunkyape can chime in on this one. Like today, while involved in an AIM session with a friend I was trying to remember how to spell "dodge," so that I could tell my friend that we should play dodge ball at the Ramsey Athletic Center on Saturday. :funn: Anyone else have this problem from time to time?

That's euphemistically called a "senior moment" for someone my age.

bsmart, these senior moments happen to me all the time. I'll be in the middle of a sentence and forget the damm word I'm trying to use! :bang: I'll be interested to hear what skunky has to say about this. Hope he doesn't tell me I have dementia!

That does not bode well for the rest of us, especially since you had your terminal degree at 25, right? Heck, I 24 and have at least two more degrees to go before I am finished.

Actually I did a second masters after finishing my Ph.D. - finished the coursework at age 31 or 32 (can't remember - :funn: ).

That was a cool program. It was an NSF-funded institute at USC (that's South Carolina) for professors with Ph.D.'s in areas related to computer science because there was a need for computer science professors in the state of South Carolina. Imagine having a class full of know-it-all Ph.D.'s. They had trouble finding professors willing to take us on. Quite an experience. We really gave our profs a hard time.

Misspelling incomprehensible or discombobulate at your age is acceptable. If you misspell dodge you are unconscious.

Actually I haven't done that in quite a while. I do not currently own an iron since I am not currently living at home. I just tumble all of my clothes in the dryer and I hate fabric softener.

Brain fart is the correct medical term. You only need to worry if you don't realize you can't remember how to do something.
