I would personally like to thank Lance and Ladd, owners of Freeport Steel and Framing, for hosting JamFest '06 last night. It was held at their Steel Mill in Freeport and it was a fantastic event.:clap_1:

Once you found the spot light waving in the air, you knew that you were in the right area (and after driving well beyond Nick's in the Sticks, one needed reassuring). After parking, they had the longest stretched limos and fancy Escalades to pick you up and transport the attendees to the party. It was only a short drive to the party, and along the way, underlit Palm Trees lined the road back to the covered stage, where plenty of live music was provided by three different bands including Dread Clampitt and the Dent Brothers Band, from New Orleans. Open bars surrounded the huge tent, and the food was catered -- absolutely the best Catfish Biscuits and Crab & Corn Chowder which I have ever eaten. It seems that many people from SoWal were enjoying the show when I arrived. Portable heaters, which were scattered around, helped keep those of us, who were not burning up the over-sized dance floor, nice and warm. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all whom I saw. What was the occasion? I think Lance and Ladd wanted people to know that there was a steel mill in the area. (They don't make the steel, just shape it into metal studs and much more from the looks of things.) Either that, or they just wanted to show their love to everyone. I sure hope to be a part of Jamfest '07 if they have one.

Thanks again, Lance and Ladd!!!:D

What he said. My hat is off to the event planner for turning a Framing and Steel factory into a perfect venue for a soiree.

and thanks to Bo! When I was leaving, Bo was getting out work gloves for people. I am not sure why. Maybe the party was to recruit steel workers. :funn:

I'd have been willing to do a little steel work for a pair of gloves at that point myself!

I drove past Freeport Steel last night to a meeting in Niceville, figured they were having a grand opening party. Looked like a lot of folks there, and that spotlight was cool!

I hope you had that warm and spiffy little hat. A master woolworker in Peru must have woven that thing!;-)
