Does anyone else go out on Black Friday shopping?
If so, here is a link for store ads before you see them in the newspaper.
http://bfads.net/

It's like a holiday for me, my sister and several friends.
First we post all the ads on a bulletin Board. We have a meeting on Thanksgiving Eve. Attendance is mandatory.
Using a pointer, and a map, we write down all the items that are of the highest priority and how many we want. The list is divided up by all participants.
The rendevous is at 4:30 am.
All cadets must bring an eye opener from the list usually hot cocoa, coffee, bagels, or muffins.
The cadets with the largest cars are drivers.
"Its the most wondeful time of the Year" is the official theme song for our trek.
Antlers are our helmets.
Rules are run into store, no deviation from said path to assigned items and meet back into the parking lot or on line. Any deviants must do 20 push ups.
Finished by 9:30 am and gather at my sisters house where my BIL makes us grayt pancakes.
Nap by 11:00 am.

Daughter said that by 6 PM, they had done over $100K in sales today. They catered in food for the employees. She says they are totally slammed. They'll definitely be in the black today.

BLESS all you shopper's hearts!! You're so good for the retail economy.
Personally I'd rather take a needle in the eye than go shopping this weekend!
ditto.

I plan to wait until the middle of the night in the middle of the week and go finish my toy shopping at Wal Mart out in the middle of nowhere. I'll never go shopping on Black Friday sober again...

  Walmart on Black Friday. Never.

NoHall, Kohl's has all their toys 50% off. Although they are not normally a toy vendor, they stock up on Black Friday and place them in the middle of aisles and near customer service. They do a great job of making use of space. Lots of Fisher Price toys, and even toys for older kids. They had some hot toys too, a selection of just about everything. Also they have some that are exclusives, like a remote control helicopter :D

I have to say though where we go there are no strip malls, so the traffic is a lot lighter, and I also was in and out of Toy's R Us in less than hour and there was no line, and to boot we got help from a knowledgeable sales associate. I also don't go as soon as they open. We got there at 7 am.

They were saying this year would be good sales wise, however, I just didn't see the turnout that I normally do. Kohl's was open at 4 am, it was busy , but then by 5 am, it was rather quieter than normal. People came in, got a few doorbusters and left.

I will admit that last year hubby camped out in 30-degree weather at Wal-Mart for a Wii for our daughter. Finally found one for her January birthday. But she rarely plays because it hurts her back which was injured while at basketball practice.:bang:

Old Navy has 50% off all cash purchases, plus 50% off all jeans (regardless of method of payment).

Neiman's has 30% off plus free shipping. But this can be taken care of online.

I think you left out something. Why did he camp out in 30 degree weather in Dec. if he didn't buy one until Jan.?:idontno:

BR, this is quite a well-rounded post!
P.S. Kohl's would have to be giving Kohl's away to get me there at 4 a.m.

Uh oh...don't get sick dd!!!! :(

I just loaded up on Emergen-C, and I'm drinking lots of fluids. I'm hoping it's just allergies. I just feel really run down. I refuse to give in to it though...too much to do!
Of course, it didn't help that I had to chase those $%(%^# dogs all over the neighborhood again!!
Kitty, it's gonna be a cold, wet weekend...

I have learned from my daughter that as long as you have a sense of style, you can dress from Old Navy, wear one pricey piece, and you look well put-together, plus most people have the impression that you are dressed pricey from head-to-toe. Not that what people think about what you have on matters in the big picture. Buy the nice Tory Burch jacket at Neiman's, but there's no point in spending a couple of hundred bucks for the plain sweater underneath at NM when you can get one that has the same effect at Old Navy for $20.

By the time he got near the head of the line, they had sold out. So he went home empty handed.

Oh, and get well, DD!

I ended up stopping at Target on the way home from my moms tonight. I was going to pick up the $89 8.2 mp Kodak digital camera for Sam and another camera for Dylan. They sold the last Kodak right in front of me. :bang: The sales clerk looked at other stores and said they had 4 more at another Target near me so I went there. And guess what? NONE. :bang:Oh well, it wasn't meant to be. The clerk there said that info is only updated at 8am in the morning. All clerks should know this. Grr. I ended up with 2 cd's for Sam that were 2 for $15 and a few movies that were $3.98 and $5.98 so it wasn't a wasted trip after all.

Oh, and by 8pm...no crowds at all.

I miss black Friday. . . .all my the women in my family that had gathered for T'giving meet at the crack of dawn at Lenox -- one of the local malls. We seperate but meet up occasionally so that we can learn of the deals that others are getting. We'll get together for a nice lunch and then call it a day. Right about lunch time is when the mall starts getting crazy. Before that -- it's empty! And it's really the best time to shop of the whole holiday season!!

But alas. . .I got married. . . and he likes to take me away for Thanksgiving.:(:(:(
