Roach motel

I just had to share this. I am on call in the hospital right now, and I went to check on a young man who had a heart procedure today. I asked him how he was doing and he said he was ok. I made a joke about the hospital room being sort of Spartan and he said "Oh, I have slept in worse". I asked what might be worse, and honest to goodness, he says "The roach motel in Panama City". Now, I just had to have him elaborate. He couldn't tell me the name, but he claims that some little place on the beach was crawling with roaches and there were rat droppings in the beds. He said he slept in the car. His story made my night

No roaches for me please. We refer our out of town guests to the Hilton at San Destin.

He should have been married! That would have saved him from the roaches. It worked for Merman. We were on a big road trip shortly after being married and stopped somewhere in South Carolina and the motel was just like that one in PC. It was late; we were tired and Merman would have stayed but I took one look at all the little creatures and said no way. Merman told the clerk with a straight face "My wife won't let me." He got his money back. ;-)

Personally, I would be more concerned with the bedspreads and rat pooh than the roaches.

Last year, my co-worker stayed in a fairly nice Hampton Inn when she went to Daytona...upon checkout, they opened the nightstand to ensure they were not leaving anything and discovered a previous guest's condoms...USED...

Not just one; a pile of them. Next to the Gideon Bible. :shock:

Of course, at that point, after pointing it out to management and the housekeeping, all you can do about it is :funn:

Back in the late 70's the chateau was smokin!! Our entire hs stayed there and had a blast! don't recall the roaches but I bet there's a large community there these days1

Franny, we made the annual trip to PC in the late 70's also. We probably crossed paths at some point. TripleB can tell you about the Chateau, I could tell you alot about the Trade Winds, which is where I stayed. But, I can't tell, because, what happens in Panty Maw city, stays in Panty Maw city. ;-)
