Mark your calendars! Celebrate with us as we open our doors once again for public visitation at our new, permanent home! The month of March will consist of a series of events and kick off our regular visitation days.

Celebrate! Alaqua begins with our exclusive, pre-opening 7th Annual 100 Point and Cult Wine Dinner on Saturday, March 4. Limited to 100 patrons, this special evening will give guests an exclusive sneak peek of our new home and will feature dining in the unique Jumonville Family Welcome Center. Saturday, March 11 is our First Annual Alaqua Wellness Festival—a ticketed fundraising event that celebrates animals, humans, and the earth.

The Refuge doors officially open for tours and adoptions on Tuesday, March 14 and we will be open daily Tuesday through Sunday from 11am - 4pm.

Next, bring out the whole family for a free event on Saturday, March 18 that highlights animal adoptions and a volunteer drive where you can learn how to "get your green on" Alaqua volunteer shirt!

Last, but not least, join the Alaqua Wildlife Rehabilitation team on Saturday, March 25 as they host the Wild and Free Festival—a family friendly event to support this important program.

Update on March Events

{ EXCITING NEWS } — We are extremely excited to share and announce the formal opening of our new, one-of-a-kind facility, located at 155 Dugas Way in Freeport, FL! To share in the excitement, we invite you and our whole community to celebrate this momentous occasion and join us for a month-long celebration of events.

During the month of March, Alaqua will host a featured event EVERY SATURDAY, and we will also be open to the public once again on Tuesday, March 14 for visits, self-guided tours, and adoptions. We will then be open daily Tuesday through Sunday of each week from 11 a.m - 4 p.m.

Each weekend event will highlight a different area of our new home while simultaneously honoring our overall mission and vision for animals within the community, across the state of Florida, and beyond. Join us to learn about everything we are doing to treat, rescue, rehabilitate, and save the animals who need it most.

On Saturday, March 11, the community is invited to the Inaugural Alaqua Wellness Festival from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at our new facility! The event will celebrate animals, humans, the earth, and how each coexist with one another and bring healing to the mind, body, and soul. The festival is open to guests of all ages.

Wellness classes and workshops including yoga, Pure Barre, Chi-Gong, sound baths, nature trail tours, educational seminars and more will be offered throughout the day. In conjunction, there will be a showcase of local vendors, live music, and an array of food and beverage options. The day will conclude with a ceremonial bonfire.
