Hey everyone! I haven't spent a lot of time checking to see if this has been posted, but, oh well, the more posts, the better...

Congressman Boyd is going to grace this part of his district with a visit!

Mark your calendars.

Friday, August 28

Panama City Community Forum
5:30 p.m.
Amelia Arts Center
Gulf Coast Community College
5230 West Highway 98
Panama City, Florida

I am planning to be there, with just a few questions:

1. Where in the constitution does it indicate that the Federal government provide healthcare?
2. How would the Federal government REALLY pay for healthcare?
3. Has Congressman Boyd read the entire bill, himself? Not staffers, Him, alone.
4. Why did he vote for Cap and Tax??
5. (and finally, depending on how the first four questions go..) What does the Congressman plan on doing for a job after January 2011??

I'm NOT an overly political guy, but these yahoos are passing legislation that will fundamentally change the structure of this country, and this country, though not perfect, does NOT need this kind of tinkering.

See you there!
thanks!

i will be there. great questions "supercollider". how this man voted for cap and trade is beyond me. its an absolute scam and incredibly irresponsible. all in the name of the environment. im so sick and tired of the natural environment being politized.

I called his office this morning and just to confirm, your information is totally accurate. Thanks for posting it.
You'll be lucky to get to ask a question let alone four but Good Luck. They are all good ones. I've got a couple I'd like to ask as well and plan to be there to do so.

Supercollider -- given your questions, I think you are omitting a big one -- perhaps you should ask Congressman Boyd if he would be willing to sponsor legislation to end Medicare. The constitution doesn't say a word about providing healthcare for seniors, or veterans for that matter. Maybe encourage him to disband Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA? There is no way we can provide Medicare for boomers as they age if we continue with the current system as is without a major tax hike.

As for death panels -- you have them now. They are called the Prior Authorization department in health insurance companies around the country. Maybe Congressman Boyd would sponsor legislation banning private from requiring prior authorizations for medical treatment.

Do you plan to suggest any alternative healthcare solutions to Mr. Boyd? Or do you just believe our current system is perfect?

Why stop at those programs, no where in the US Constitution does it authorize social security, the federal highway system, etc. While were at it, the FCC, FDA, SEC, and FAA aren't authorized either. I'm sure those big companies regulated by those agencies don't really need the over sight. Just because half of them are either in or have been in bankruptcy at one point or another is probably just park of the free market cycle.

been watching too much lib tv? this is typical liberal talking points on this subject and its everywhere. come on, its getting really old-respectfully

if we disagree with obamacare we must think the current health system is perfect and the drug companies are man's best friend. and if we're ticked off because we're being lied to by our federal government and its media pals we're part of some conspiracy, the republican party, the mob, the klan or the brown coats.

its ok to protest when your liberal, but we're all un-american if its against liberal view. its ok for code pink to shout during a congressional hearing, but townhall protesters are the devil?

its comical at this point.....

Hers something on the So Called "Death Panel" Hope it works.
FACT CHECK: No 'death panel' in health care bill - Yahoo! News

As someone who has seen his fair share of DNRO, Do Not Resuscitate Order, many signed by the patient and many more signed by the family and/or the Physician, and from what I am reading this is the extent of the Death Panel. Guess everyone has there own spin.

Oh, by the way, if you can't get your questions answered, be disruptive and loud that way no questions get answered, seems that is the choice for most of the Town Hall Meetings.

Have to smile .. what is the definition of "this part of his district?"

There are numerous other places but none in Walton or our neighbor to the west Okaloosa where his district reaches, too.

Glad you and others can go east to Bay County and ask questions!

Bay County has always been in his district. The FL legislature gerrymandered a slice of his district east of Tallahassee and added South Walton and Destin.

I wonder how many Tricare and Medicare recipients will be protesting government health care?

This is sowal ... point being that when someone writes about Boyd being in "this part of his district" .. sowal is not in Bay County. To be in this part of the district, he needs to come to South Walton.

He is my Congressional House Representative. While I understand what you are saying, he can only hold so many forums. I will gladly drive to PC to attend.

We are intelligent enough and informed enough to know that Medicare and Tricare are government programs. I have read almost every post concerning the healthcare issue and have seen none that indicate there is not a need for healthcare reform. Healthcare reform is a far cry from a one size fits all universal healthcare system.
BTW, SWGB, Medicare begins at age 65 not 64 in regards to your siggy line.

The current health care reform bill would not create a universal, one size fits all healthcare system. It would create an insurance exchange that would allow people to search for policies at competitive rates. There would be a public option within that exchange to provide competition with for profit insurance companies.

People on this board may realize that Medicare and Tricare are government run programs, but if you think that the majority of the town hall protesters realize this, you haven't been watching or listening to the news.
