Does he have to get on an interstate to get to work?
he is taking the state road this morning. i am listening to the scanner and interstate 70 between here and his exit has 5 wrecks going right now, and it is only a 15 mile stretch ! they should never have scraped it. he left and then 5 or 10 mins later came running back in, i was afraid something happened but he forgot his wallet and needs to get gas.....typical morning for him....

Not the temps this time...I guess the snow and probably ice on the roads too. I think we're supposed to hit 19 degrees today. So that means a one day week for them since they were already scheduled off Friday.

well mr audie made it to work, he was late as per usual, but he made it there. said it wasn't too bad out if you just take your time....this is the first day schools were closed here, the last few days it has been a 2 hr delay

Glad he made it to work okay!!! We haven't had a snow day in years. I think they get 5 before they have to start making them up at the end of the school year.

yeah, i think they get 4 days here for snow. it's so stupid, we have the lowest graduating rate in the state here in this county, so what do they do ? make them go 1/2 days on tuesdays for "teacher enlightenment" - hell, it ain't working - maybe they should enlighten the students !
they are mostly making them have delays, because if you cancel school you cannot have any afterschool activities, and it's prime winter sports time here for high school so they delay 2 hrs instead of cancelling.

I guess we are gonna pay for those warm late fall early winter days.
I just watched the news and LBH and JR will get hit first, then Mermy and Audie, me, and then on to Gypsea and Shaken.

At least you are getting snow. It is just freakin, freezing cold here. Highs in the 20s -low 30s with that nasty north wind. It has been this way for the last ...well it has been so long I cannot remember a nice day. Oh, today's high 48,but not for long.
Seriously, be safe and hopefully it won't be too bad. Can you make snow angles and snow cream?

It has been freaking freezing here as well. Right now it is 22 & it actually feels warm to me after last week's sub zero wind chills. It is not looking good over the next few days - snow, sleet and freezing rain. High of 15 for Thursday.
By the time I get finished shoveling the driveway, I have no energy left for snow angels! My driveway was finally clear of all snow and ice.

looks like mermy and i are both in the band of snow, freezing rain, sleet, etc. the station i saw said 4-8 inches of crap, be it snow or snow/ice mixture. when this all started we were told 10-20 inches of snow, now it looks to more of an ice event around here, not sure which is worse. will be thinking of everyone while i am chipping the ice off my car in the mornings that's the worse....

I went grocery shopping yesterday, our essentials being gourmet coffee and half & half, sugary cereal, & snacks! Our forecast keeps changing but as it stands now, it should be around 8" (+/-). The schools are predicting a snow day so they've had to bring home extra homework, extra books, etc. I have a meeting tomorrow night for work and I so don't want to go!

it's 23 out now, has been snowing since about midnight, we have about 3 inches of snow now and are expecting up to a foot by wed. morning.

I had a whole closet of Paarmalat milk even though I am only 4 miles from the grocery. ;-)

That would have been because one giddy teenager popped her nose through the bedroom door squealing "SNOW DAY!!!" like she was some eight year old or something. Yes, I'm happy for you, dear, but couldn't you have rolled over and gone back to sleep?
This news, so estatically delivered, made Merman hopeful that they'd have declared a Snow Emergency, in which case, he'd have gotten a snow day, too. He climbed in and out of bed every two minutes hoping for an update on the blizzard, which ultimately came to nothing because we have a very efficient snow plow union here.
Needless to say, "MY" snow day is going to be a date with the shovel. Fortunately for me we are on good terms. ;-)
