Banned on Sowal

I'm thinking that 'Banned on Sowal' will become trendy. Sort of like "banned in Boston' once was.

At least it should be good for a dinner invitation,

"Hon, did you hear that so-n-so just got banned on Sowal.com? Maybe we should invite him to our Peruvian Tapas dinner party on Friday. I mean how often have we complained about how dull and monotoned the dinner conversation has gotten since the last of our Gen-Y friends moved? If I have to listen to another conversation about real estate and Greta Van Susteren's latest Fox News report my eyes are going to permanently glaze over. He will be so hip and controversial!"

I will endeavour to get myself banned on Sowal; smote down by the mighty e-hand of the Webmaster. I expect lots of dinner invitations.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

Just start irrelevant threads, like 24/7, on forums other than the Lounge! Constantly provide statistics about how bad the real estate market is. Say that the beach looks like hell. "Dis" The Red Bar, Dread Clampitt, and other favorite SoWal places/people. Advocate having a McDonald's at Seaside. Petition to four-lane Highway 30-A. Have no respect for people on bike paths. Become best friends with everyone who has built a seawall and be their spokesperson.

For starters.:rolling:

Thank you all for your kind advice. I will be taking all the suggestions into consideration.

Before I forget, I'm looking for some new recipies for turtle soup; I picked up a loggerhead on the beach Tuesday and can't find my cookbook. And wouldn't you know, Martha just does not cover this topic in any of her books.................

You didn't think someone like Martha could do that much decoupage and not be an evil demon did ya? You obviously missed the edition before she was incarcerated. (and I bet you thought that was for insider trading info too ;-)

Here it is: :funn:

Martha's Turtle Soup au Sherry
1/4 cup salt
3/4 cup fresh or frozen turtle meat
3/4 cup ground veal shank meat
6 cups veal stock
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 bay leaves
1 pinch whole dried thyme
3 tablespoons tomato pure?
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 cup green onions, chopped
1/2 cup white onions, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
2 lemons, halved
3 tablespoons sherry
2 eggs, hard-boiled and chopped
2 tablespoons roux
Salt and white pepper to taste
Combine eight quarts of water and half the salt in each of two large pots and bring to a boil over high heat. Place the turtle meat in one, the veal in the other, and simmer both for 45 minutes. Remove both pots from heat, drain the meat, and chop both meats coarsely in a food processor. Keep warm until needed.
Place the veal stock, garlic, bay leaves, and thyme in a large pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Add the tomato pure?, vegetables, parsley and lemons, and bring back to a boil. Reduce the heat, and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add the two kinds of meat and the sherry. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the eggs, and season to taste with salt and pepper. Thicken by adding small amounts of the roux.

Add a final splash of sherry to each individual bowl when serving, if desired.

Serves six.
