Tangible or intangible.....
Mine had to be a clay whale tail that my darling husband sculpted himself. Since he's generally not real crafty, it really touched me. I still have it. It would be one of the things I grab in a fire.

The best gifts I receive are the ones my kids make for me. Framed photos, CD's, sweet handmade notes.
But, HMM is one of the most clever gift presenters around! One year, many moons ago, he took an old 8X10 teacher photo of me and stuck diamond stud earrings in the ears!!! It was such a shock to open and see myself in a box, that the earrings were a BONUS!
My favorite thing at Christmas as always been the stockings. My mom was very clever and I have carried on the tradition. Even with 23 and almost 21 yo kids, the stocking is the most fun! Now we all receive lottery scratch off tickets (even PawPaw) once a year. FUNN!

My kids LOVE their stockings too! My son has a note laying in our fireplace right now that reads: ( I'll go get it)
Stocking list
toothbrush
bublebath
santa's cole gum
bild a bear kit
To: Santa
From: Dylan
P.S. Trust me I have been good
He's never written a stocking list before. :idontno: As you can see, he's gotten these items in his stocking in year's past. Not sure why he felt the need to remind Santa. :floor: This year I may add some scratch offs for them, I think they'd love that.

That is way too cute!!! How old is your son? That is the FIRST stocking list I have ever heard of!

He's nine and in third grade. A little odd but a great kid. 🙂))
I have a little something for Miss Kitty. ( don't tell SS, and please buy her something nice for C'mas.)

I raised an "odd" one as well! He is now turning 21 and I realized God sent him to me for a reason. He makes me think about things in an entirely different way!!! I LOVE that boy!
Love the Kitty Kurrency!!!!

Your son sounds very cool, how interesting a "stocking list".

Do you remember the commercial for Seiko watches "My Seiko's still here but my husband is not"? Well, my ex got me a gold Seiko watch for Christmas one year. I had wanted one forever, anyway, he surprised me with one, and then the next month left me. So, I alway's joked about it. I told everyone "My Seiko's is still here but my husband is not". It was a good thing!!!

I say Dylan is odd because he is not like me at all. And like SS said about her son....he makes me look at things in a totally different way. He frustrates the heck out of me sometimes too. He seems to be a natural leader, always wanting to be different. For instance. EVERYONE up here is a buckyeye fan. When he started school he decided he liked Michigan, our biggest rival. Broke his Dad and his Grandad's hearts too. Anyway, now all the third grade boys like Michigan. He's not happy. LOL He's not really into sports as much as other boys his age. He started playing Lacrosse last Spring and really likes it so I hope that will be his thing. He'll play Upward Basketball at our church this winter but that's not so serious. Most boys are sooo into playing football right now and he's so not. He has lots of friends that are girls and on recess he hangs out with them. From what I hear is quite the ladies man but if you asked him they are all just friends!!

I love buying all the little things for the kids stockings. As Dylan mentioned in his list I buy new fun toothbrushes and kids flavored toothpaste, bubble bath, special candy that I won't buy normally, lip gloss or chap stick, earrings, any small toy like matchbox cars or polly pockets. There are so many ideas out there for stockings now a days. I think Target has a whole area of just stocking stuffer items. A few scratch off's are going in this year too.

..... special candy that I won't buy normally....
I like to do this also --- buy some stuff that I have said no to all year for whatever reason. Makes the stocking stuff more special that way.

Mine always get the gold chocolate coins, because I did. I don't think they ever eat them come to think of it!!!! I pick little things up over the months heading into Christmas and then just hope I can remember where I put them! Nothing too expensive, although now that they are older, car wash, Itunes and coffee gift cards are good. I found these weird stress balls that you squeeze (or in my case...THROW) at Walgreens. For fun and to be "silly", I think they will get bubbles this year...Molly will love them!
