devastating news for the audies

For sorry about Audie. Sounds like what happened to our Weimaraner, Winnie. She had kidney disease, and one morning I went out to feed her. Her back legs were paralyzed. I took her to Auburn University Vet School where she stayed in intensive care for about two weeks. The docs there said that the kidney disease gave her bacterial endocarditis which gave her a blood clot that paralyzed her. Then she had more and more clots and seizures. The vets finally said we needed to have her euthanized, and I prayed to God that he would take care of it for us. Unfortunately, we had to make the decision. It's been a little over a year and a half. I still miss her, and even seeing the Weimaraner on the trash bag box at Publix brings tears to my eyes.

So anyhow, that might me why your dog fell down the stairs - she had some paralysis from clots from bacterial endocarditis.

Sorry you're having to go through this. It is really painful to lose a beloved pet.

So Sorry for you Audie. When our family dog passed, I was not living home, but suddenly felt like he was in the room with me and I smelled doggy breath. I called my Mother immediately and she told me he had just passed suddenly and she was getting to calling me. So I believe that our pets do go to heaven and watch over us.

I am so sorry audie. I am sitting here in shock. Dory was one of our beloved sowal pets and stories of her brought us much joy. I am sending you a big hug and please know we are here for you.

I couldn't believe my eyes. I know how hard this is for you and Mr. Audie. Dory will be missed by all your SoWal friends. She will always be remembered. Keeping you and Mr. A close, in my thoughts and in my heart.

Audie, I am so, so sorry. She was such a beautiful dog and I always think of Dory when I think of you because you had her as your 'tar for so long. Please know that we are thinking of you and love you.

thanks for all the good thoughts everyone, it means a lot to us... i just went and saw her at the vet's, she looked so peaceful. we are going to bury her in a cemetery especially for pets where a couple of our friends have dogs buried so she will have company. she brightened my life for 8 1/2 years, i am sooo glad to have had her. but i don't want any more....

My heart is with you today! I am so sorry for your loss and understand as I discovered our Chow Chow in the back yard after 12 years. Pets are truely a part of the family and I am sure she will be missed. I am glad you did not have to make the decision as well, that would be a hard one.

Yes that is devastating news. My heart goes out to you both. Having loved sowal ones around will hopefully soften your hurt. Losing a pupchild is such a terrible loss and we will be here for you.
