Why do women seem to hate her so much? I don't understand why women don't step up to the plate and support one of their own, with all the talk about needing a woman to run the country. What is wrong with Hillary? Is it the jealousy thing that always seems to pop up when a strong woman excels? You know, when women say they admire a strong woman but call her a Bee I Tee See H behind her back?

I hope I don't offend any SoWal ladies but I honestly would like to know if there is a reason women don't like her. Is it her personality, or something specific she's done? If the former keeps her from the White House then maybe we're not ready for a female president. If the latter, spill.

It is partly her personality, but mostly the fact that she comes into the race with so many people hating her. I would prefer to see a less polarizing Democratic candidate. I am mostly worried that Hillary getting the nomination will let the Republicans turn the election into a nasty free for all- since she can provide them with more "ammunition" than any other candidate. So while she may be the one that many Dems will choose, she is not the one that will win over moderates. And it's the moderates that we need to be aiming for- we really need a candidate that won't make them recoil.

I don't hate Hillary, and I think Kurt made some valid observations.
I *so* wish we sisters would pull together instead of fighting the mommy wars, hissing at Hillary etc etc.
However, I agree with everything Jdarg says above.
Some people really detest All Things Clinton, and always will.

In my circle of female friends and co-workers, there is no one who dislikes her! They are completely supportive. I find it's the men who bash her. It was because of Hillary why so many voted for Bill in the first place, including myself.

I don't like her. I volunteered for her husband's campaign in college and had the chance to meet her, and she seemed very unappealing. She doesn't connect with people. She also doesn't bring anything new to the table.

It's the last point that bothers me most. While I love the idea of a female president, I would hate if the first woman got there by her association with a man, by name recognition and the popularity of her husband. And, honestly, if Hillary Clinton was Hillary Rodham Smith and her husband was a dentist you'd never heard of, would she be polling as well? That is the very antithesis of feminism, so I really don't want to hear any of this 'sisters stick together' thing. Nepotists stick together I'm cool with...

I don't choose a candidate based on gender, race, religion or party. Republicans would probably love for Hillary to be the Democratic candidate. A woman voting for Hillary just because she is a woman is akin to a woman voting for the cutest candidate in my book.

Me too.

We are ready!!! She is the most prepared. Thanks so much for posing this question, kurt. Your opinion is highly respected. :D

IMO.. it is because she forgave her hubby. Most women think she should have dropped him like a bag of poo but I think most women dont want to think that maybe she just really does love the guy (thus making her look weaker than she is) or maybe ...she just doesnt care what he does. Which even further proves, she is a strong, self-sufficient, woman. To be honest, I have never met a strong, self-sufficient, woman that wasnt a B****.
I've heard this too. He's always seemed to respect her except for his mistakes. Aren't we all sinners? Aren't we supposed to try and forgive if someone asks us for it? :dunno:  :dunno: :D ;-)

When I vote for Hillary it will be because I believe she is the best candidate. She has the most experience. She's was raised Republican. She is open-minded, and has been civic-minded since youth. She has worked hard to get where she is today. Imagine how hard, ya'll.  She studied law in college. Worked hard while also raising her daughter and was an excellent first lady and now senator of NY. Then to have your every move scrutinized. My goodness, I 'm exhausted just thinkin' about how hard she has worked, and all the criticism she has endured. She is very strong, and the smartest most prepared of all the candidates. That's why I will vote for her not because of the fact that she is a woman, though that does make me excited for women and girls who would  to see this in thier lifetimes. If the woman is the best prepared candidate, why not? :dunno:

Did ya'll hear? If she wins we all get a cupcake on HER birthday.

I wonder if there is a democratic sister company to Haliburton which could supply cupcakes for the population at $100 each?

For any of you Hillary lovers out there, please share with us which particular programs that Hillary supports (& that other candidates don't support) that you agree with. :dunno:
