Is Flip Flops gone for good?

There's diner food then there's diner food. I love a short order grill. Coram's is the only one I know of. Two can eat for $10 for dinner special plus drinks.

As far as open early and open late SoWal does not have the labor for it. Most places have trouble doing 2 meals a day. Not enough business or staff in the off season and too much competition for staff in the summer.

Marie's is an excellent choice. It's a mom and pop place and they work hard to please god bless 'em.

WHAT? I haven't been down there since July. Is Flip Flops closed? Best burger and (the House) chili dog, plus, it's a short bike ride from where we stay in SGB. I haven't heard anything about Flip Flops lately. Did they close for the off-season?

Flip-Flops is definitely open for business! My favorite burgers now that Shoo Mama's is gone (next favorite is Red Bar).

Teresa, I agree. Great Southern is our go-to place. Yes, there are some fancy things on the menu, but there are simple, less expensive items on the menu too. Love the veggies.

Okay, I've waited for some one to mention us but Seacrest Sundries is open year around and we have breakfast from 7 til 3 in the off season, serving breakfast sandwiches and homemade biscuits & gravy. Lunch time we have made to order sandwiches (roast beef, ham, turkey, pimento cheese, chicken salad and ruebens) with french fries (regular, cajon or sweet potato).
We're inexpensive and very casual. "No shirt, no shoes, no problem....you're at the Beach!

What's the diff? Some tasty grease.

It ain't a diner unless you have a griddle and a hamburger steak, and a sloppy cheeseburger.

I agree Dawn,love the idea someone posted about the silver diner at the hardware store.All the ideas posted have been wonderful and some of the places we have tried and the others suggested we will try,but none are really that "simple short order cook" kind of place. the kind of place that is a "greasy spoon" and where the waitress calls everyone honey or darlin'.

We;ve gotten breakfast biscuits from you when staying at a friends place behind your building. You have the best breakfast prices on 30-A!
