We had a hot summer - was close to 90 today but that would probably be refreshing to the southerners.

Personally it was pretty nice here today too... but the real question is do you have humidity? That makes all the difference!

And this includes turning up 2 of the ac units up to 76 while we are at work till we go to bed that night. Then I turn the main floor down to 74 and the upstairs to 72 overnight. :bang:
You are about 10 degrees too cold. Wear less clothes around the house and put that therm no lower than 81 at night, use summer bedspread and sleep naked. In the day time when you are away, bump it up to 83 to keep the dogs cool. You are not running a meat locker.

Brother I am all for lower bills EXCEPT when I am sleping it's 72 or bust. At that temp, the wife would be running away!! :yikes:

Ours here at home was $636.00. That is with a a/c system that runs on cooled water we pump from our pond. With water temps in the high 80's the system just had to work too hard. I have a lung condition caused by microbaterica so have to keep thermostat at 75. This was the highest bill we have ever had, more than our house payments use to be.

Mine has been over $250 for the last couple of months. What kills me is that my moms house, no one in it, water heater turned off, no ceiling fans on, fridge on lowest setting, no lights on, air on 80 and the bill is still $140??? crazy I must say...
