So, I can conclude that the GOP, Karl Rove and the rest, are 100% behind our men and women in uniform, unless they decide to run for the Senate or Congress as a Democrat, then they are liars and their war record is suspect.

Why don't we do this: why don't we go over to Walter Reed or one of the other major VA hospitals where the wounded are returning from overseas, and review all of the records and see which of the veterans were wounded in the presence of the enemy, and which were not? (That was, after all, Ann Coulter's reasoning as to why Max Cleland was not a war hero - there were no Viet Cong around when the grenade went off.) Then, we tell all the men and women who were NOT wounded in the presence of the enemy to get off their lying lazy asses and get the hell off the premises, because they aren't REALLY war wounded, they don't actually have war wounds and they are an embarrassment to the military, and these beds are needed for REAL war heroes.

Next, we'll review all of the records of the KIA since 2001 and if they were not killed in the presence of the enemy, we will go to their survivor's homes and demand that they return any military honors which were accorded their late loved ones.

Can we just talk about Max Cleland?

I think you're infatuated with Keith Olbermann. I myself only watch him on ESPN.

Little man-crush, maybe?

Terri Gross did an excellent interview with him on Fresh Air yesterday. I had no idea what he had been through since loosing his seat in Congress. Obama has recently him appointed to a position coordinating military monuments, planning and restoration.. He is a good man who has given an awful lot to this country and was badly done wrong when he was voted out by the people in Georgia

I love the line that people listen only to the news coverage that tells them what they already believe.

Yes. Getting away from lib vs. conservative jib-jab, I don't love, but rather despise the way "facts" only figure into an equation or argument when they give only support to one side or other.

A fact used to be.....a fact. ( I was raised old school)

Like, fact is, the world is not older than 6,000,000 years. There will be some Americans who dispute this as fact because they have their own set of facts to support it. I cannot argue with that.

I heard Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann interiewed the other day on Fox and she said we only need to get down to the "true facts" as far as the healthcare argument is concerned.... I used to think all facts were true??

"Factuality" in America today is strictly pick and choose now. Anyone can play!

I pose, again, my original question. What is your position concerning 62 yo woman disable by MS after working from the age 17. I am also a cancer survivior and just fininshed chem due to begin radiation today. My BC/BS, coverage I have had since my teenage years of late decided retroactivley that they would no longer pay any claims unless and until Medicare was billed first. Medicare has thus far failed to pay any claims. My surgeon who performed my masectomy has submitted bills repeatedly but Medicare has paid nothing. I expect at some point the bills will be sent directly to me for payment. What, pray tell, have I been paying premiums for . I have delayed calculating the amount of money I have paid BC over the years only to find that there is nothing there. Someday, I would be happy to tell you the story of my interactions with the BC patient care coordinator. It is tragically hysterical. I am sure many feel that getting sick is something I brought on myself. But what about the family whose child is injured by a drunk driver. Their insurace will be cancelled, depending on the severity of the injuries. Or what about my niece whose lawyer husband had excellent insurance that was instantly terminated when she experienced a complicateed delivery during which the child, while surviving, was oxygen deprived for an extended time and now is totally incapacitated. Their insurance was terminated before the baby made it to neonatal ICU. What do you think? what do you think will happend to your and your families' medical insurance, when you need it?

absolutely unacceptable! i cant believe what your going through and im so very sorry to hear about your situation. its exactly why we need reform and now. however, obamacare is not the answer nor will pass into law. we will get a plan, but it will look alot more like the gop plan....a more dribbled down version of obamacare.

competition across state lines will make an enormous difference. and so will malpractice reform. we start there first and foremost

Ah, Michelle, Prom Queen for the Tinfoil Hat crowd.

She was on Larry King last night, talking about how the "people" want Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, et al to be their voice, that you can tell because of the ratings.

Larry pointed out that the highest rated cable shows have a viewership that amounts to less than 2% of the registered voters in the US.

He asked her directly, "Do you want them to be the voice of the Republican Party?"

She replied "It's not me, it's the people, they are clearly saying this".

Larry repeated the 2% thing, and she just beamed at him, nodding and smiling.

Ari Fleischer (W's former press secretary) was in another "interview" box on the screen and he looked like he was in actual pain.

what the heck are you getting too?

ratings are ratings-period. fox dominates because they get the news to people. get over it!

whats more exciting, watching larry king or watching grass grow? he hasnt even been making it to the top ten in ratings when just a year ago he was at least 8-10. people are waking up to real news

So, you don't understand numbers, either.
