Have them do a second-line. Tell them to dress in purple/green/gold.
Make sure no one swallows the plastic Baby Jesus in the King Cake.
Dixie Beer?
When my daughter was in first grade, I threw a Mardi Gras party for her class. (Most people are clueless about Mardi Gras around here. I helped her explain the meaning of the colors, 12th Night, Ephiphany, parades, etc., to her class.) From Oriental Trading I ordered a quantity of 12 masks and beads for her class. Well, that was 12 gross. She went to a small private school (graduating class of 12), so I had enough beads and masks to do a Mardi Gras party for them from 1st through 12th grade!![]()
I wish like anything we had worked it out!I'm thinking it could work. They'd just be pushed under the pole but I can see them really enjoying it. In my mind, when a party is being planned for seniors, it's almost like planning a party for kids! It might bring back some funn memories for them.lemme think on that one. it could work, it could work.

Also, maybe they could throw the mardi gras beads around a bottle or a soccer cone or even onto a dinner plate. Sort of like they have at carnivals.
Maybe you can teach them all how to SoWal!![]()
I could teach Elsie, my lady who demands dozens of lollipops every day....she could teach us some new words! You're so right about the similarities of party planning. It just makes me so mad that our Activity Director does ONLY what she HAS to do...they could be havin' so much more funn! She didn't even know about King Cakes, colors, masks, etc. If only I were the AD.....the men would be goin' to Hooters and the ladies to....do they even have those places any more?
Anyhoo, they'd be havin' a heck of a lot of funn every day!

There is no way she is on her original set of teeth.
Actually, she is! Just ask the nurse aide she took a bite of a few weeks ago.
