Offensive Church Messages

Unfortunately the later posts were designed to do exactly that, be offensive. The first post was just the set-up.

I'm with Lynnie on this one, Lucifer. Most on this board at least attempt to see the other viewpoint from an enlightened perspective. I will say this, though: those who are confident in their beliefs and comfortable with their choices, especially regarding life's big questions, don't feel compelled to belittle others who've made different choices. Methinks thou dost protest too much.

This thread isn't for everybody. No thread is. As far as protesting too much I don't know. I'll keep that in mind next time I hear you or anyone else or me for that matter get into the Palin bashing. Maybe we all really have a deep respect for her and her views.

Or just be an illiterate Christian.

Most Christians are not offended by messages on church signs. Most of us can read just fine thanks, that's why the signs are there.
Bill boards for strip clubs don't bother me because I just look away. What bothers me most is that I was stupid enough to go on this thread when I couldn't sleep last night and to come back this evening. I don't really like hearing how stupid someone thinks I am and as a Christian I don't like pointing out that I might feel the same about them. So good night and pleasant dreams.

I never wrote that you were stupid or that all Christians are illiterate. You left no indication that you were Christian, that you liked the signs or anything. For all I knew you shared my views and were offering friendly advice. My reply was that the only way I wouldn't find the sign offensive is if I either a. couldn't read or b. was some kind of Christian or c. all of the above.
