What 3 items do you take camping that you can't live without (other than the obvious like water and matches)?

Nowhere definite- just trying to talk myself into thinking about possibly planning a camping trip nowhere in the near future. Did ya get that?;-)

Try Dale Hollow Lake. We are gonna tow the boat up there this summer. Looks like a great lake.

Dale Hollow is very popular- as is Cumberland. Used to have ahouseboat at Cumberland w/the ex. THAT was work. Never again!

I got it :D
I  camping, but then, I am sort of an outdoors kinda gal. "Wildlife" doesn't bother me too much, unless it's a really big snake. mr. dd's idea of camping is a motel, so needless to say we have never been camping together. Used to go a lot in a former life. We used to go in Ark.--it's quite beautiful in some areas. Colorado is good too--but cold, even in July.

Me too! I don't even mind small snakes. I did find one in my bathroom one morning--that was a bit much! I picked him up and carried him outside while mr. dd shrieked--it was quite comical for a few moments. ;-)

Well, there is car camping and there is camping.

tent, sleeping bag, Thermarest, small pillow (much more comfortable than a wad of clothes)

Swiss Army knife (w/ corkscrew and can opener), ear plugs, tp (toilet papert), chopsticks or spoon.

If you are car camping and other people will be around, the standard requirements are

-Loud radio with many batteries that plays really well after dark.
-Many battery powered lanterns so that the campsite glows like neon lights.
-Much alcohol that can be consumed late at night which helps you yell louder than the person sitting across the lantern from you.
-big balls to have the nerve to do it.

Suwanne Fest - March 23 - 26th. It's pretty much all of the above! BUT.. A lot of fun!

Jen-ay, come on down to Kentucky Lake, there are several hotels around if you get "skeered" and change your mind, or you could just call me and I would come and get you.:clap_1:

One was a gift ;-)

And you are in trouble. Well not really...you're ok. If you were out taking pictures, you can get away with not answering the phone. But just know the can of worms you have opened now that Jfunn, Darlene and I have your number! :funn:

As for camping...never really was my thing. But my friends want to go camping up in Vermont or something. Brrr.

No, and it is just 10 miles from here. Kentucky Lake is big, so there are several different areas to choose. Hubby and son don't boat or fish, so I am more familiar with golf courses. Barkley Lake (part of KY Lake) is really pretty and the lodge is very nice there. You should come down.

KY Lake is where I bought my last (and current) boat. Test drove on that lake. Dam that's a big lake. Well over 100' deep  . Very pretty.

It is big. I get lost everytime I am out on the pontoon with my sister and her family. If you are ever back in this part of the state, let me know. By the way, is the boat everything you thought it would be?

As I said before we do plan on towing up to Dale Hollow. KY Lake looks just as good to me.

Yes the boat has been great. I bought a 2002 Chaparral 243 from a guy that owns a small "resort" on the lake. The Chap fits all our needs I would like something faster.

Chaparral I bought:

Magic Deckboat that I want  :
