Imagine my surprise when I called the cashier's office at Mizzou to inquire about the bill.... the guy tells me that my son received a $!,000 scholarship and I had no idea! I am on hold with the Financial Aid office right now wanting to know what this is...I sure hope it isn't a mistake!

IMHO, that is a weed. We just pulled a bunch up on Sunday....THose berries are nasty....

That is indeed what I call a poke weed. My grandmother would cook 'em when they were little, but they're just giant weeds when they get bigger than your hand.

Those berries will stain your clothes, hands, etc. (So keep your etc. away from them to avoid embarrassing questions.)

Yea; it is poke salad weed My pawpper used to pull over on the highway in TX, and OK and dig this weed up then bring it home and cook it ""The poke weed, known for its poisonous roots, was particularly prized because it was the one weed that mother liked to cook with her meat. And because of the danger of harvesting a bit of the poison-filled root, she wouldn't trust anybody but herself to gather those "asparagus" shoots of the poke. I don't recall how mother cooked the poke shoots. I just know they were delicious.""""
