The Republican National Committee dropped $1,946 at Voyeur, a strip club in West Hollywood, CA.

What do you think?

  • Abby Hillary Media Clerk
  • "Damn. Boners and pleated Dockers do not an appealing image evoke."

  • Nienkerk Systems Analyst
  • "They could have saved a lot of money if they came to my strip club, Wispers. We have Republican night every Wednesday."

  • Anthony Yacyshyn Rubber Goods Binder
  • "How much of that was for Sarah Palin’s clear heels?"

WASHINGTON - The best thing the Republican Party can say about this week is, it's nearly over.First came news that the Republican National Committee paid $1,946 for a gathering at a sex-themed Hollywood club, which a group of young Republicans had visited without RNC approval. The money is to be paid back.

Now it turns out the RNC inadvertently listed a phone-sex number on a fundraising letter sent to potential donors. People who tried to call the committee were instead offered "live, one-on-one talk with a nasty girl" for $2.99 a minute.

RNC spokesman Doug Heye said a typographical error caused the letter to contain a toll-free 800 number rather than Washington's 202 area code. He confirmed details of the letter, first reported by the Politico news Web site.

They ain't got nothing on the RPOF. Suing each other over secret contracts and hundreds of thousands of dollars in hush money that may or may not have been paid depending on who you ask and when. And these were Crist's hand picked leaders.

Well if you donated to the RNC it may have been your money. As I have said I have donated to candidates on both sides and had I donated money to the RNC or the Democrats I would be extremely disappointed in their use of my money. So it is news IMO.

it may be news to some - I am not saying it isn't. but for me there are much more pressing matters in this country, in the world and in this life. Also, what's wrong with a little entertainment after a hard day's work? No - I didn't contribute to the RNC and never will. But still - I find nothing interesting or noteworthy about this event.

When you contribute to politics it can pay for a lot of stuff including entertainment. Whenever the media reports such "news" as in the use of govt funds for travel and makes such a big deal out of something so ridiculous - it just makes me wonder why we are so interested and outraged about that stuff. and the important matters such as war, peace, hunger, racism, terrorism, real corruption of govt, health and education, drilling, etc... are just mundane matters we barely respond to.

but go out and involve some liquor and skin and its total outrage. I do not get it at all. I'm fairly sure there is more to the story such as people making mistakes but willing to correct them.

If the entire Republican National Committee left a strip club for under $2,000, I'd say they got a good deal. Is this really news? I can name many people both dems and reps who spend much more on their mistresses, which seems just as poor a decision.

But you didn't. But if the whole thing has you down, send me an address and I will send you a couple of bucks if it will make you feel better. Do strippers still take singles?

There's a scene in Pulp Fiction when Marcellus gets captured by the hillbillies.

Both groups wasting tax payer money...you betcha ya!!!!!!!

Big difference here, RNC funds are NOT taxpayers funds, they belong to the members. Pelosi and Co wasted taxpayer money to attend the bogus global warming conference. Apples and oranges.
I know liberals think everything belongs to the government but I beg to differ with them.

I don't go to those places, and thanks for the offer of cash but I'm good. I would have thought you of all people would have been livid.

I have never given any money to the RNC. I am just hoping they will understand they need to quit trying to take the moral high ground on all of these issues. Humans, overall, are pretty pathetic, and we need to let each of us work on our own personal journey when it comes to that sort of thing.

$2K is a small amount if the stories I use to hear from the college kids that they have working these campaigns are any indication.

I have given money to the RNC, although not recently. I agree that the Republicans would be alot better off if they would climb down from their high horse regarding personal issues.
That said, I have no problem with legitimate government travel if the travel helps improve operations. I resent Pelosi and Obama going to Copenhagen because that trip served no purpose whatsoever except to present them with a grandstanding opportunity.

Getting to be that time again. Has a lot going on, but not that things are finally coming together can get back on the boards.
