:clap_1: Yippee! Thanks Linda!! Will make my grocery list accordingly. I'm also gonna pm abe drinkin and hopefully get him to post too! I may not lose a stinkin' pound, but at least I'll feel better eatin' all this healthy stuff!!

I'm so glad you found it helpful. You hit the nail on the head by the way -let taking better care of yourself be your prime motivation and other benefits will follow!

someone said I looked "skinny" today. I immediately offered her $10 cold cash. I haven't lost any weight according to my scales, but I already feel like I have.

:clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1: - way to go Tootsie!!!!!

Those are all great suggestions. Making things convenient seems to be the key to healthier eating habits. You are so right LBH about eating more often. As we age food deprivation is not the answer, all that does is slow the metabolism even more.

The convenience factor is what does it for me! And yes, the metabolism - that's exactly what I was trying to refer to (thanks - apparently all this healthy eating is not helping my old brain cells..... :dunno: )

Linda:All kiddin' aside, i know you're right. I've been down this road before, and I know that what you say is very true. At one point, I was so not used to eating fat, that it made me sick when I did-- but...I've found that I just flat don't like some stuff I used to like, like carrots. Hate em! Used to like em! And, although I eat chicken because it's available, I really don't care for it much any more. Give me a big ole steak any day. But, I will persevere! I'm gonna take some of your suggestions and some of kdw's and some of mermaid's, tootsie's, etc. and just take it day by day like dbuck said....

You go girl - we're all here for you! By the way, my favorite thing to order when I'm eating out is a petite filet mignon (an indulgence at 6 oz.) And I'm with you - I'd rather eat steak any day over chicken (I will only order a grilled chicken breast at a restaurant if I can't find anything else more suitable.) But I have to admit, I'm really starting to love fish.

Thanks, you're a peach! I like fish too, but not so much if I cook it at home--unless it's grilled. Now, that's some pretty good stuff--if it's fresh--which is difficult to find here--it's usually frozen. Prefer shrimp, crab, really, over fish.

Tootsie, that means the yoga is working for you!! I bet you got that nice compliment because you have improved your muscle tone = clothing fits better and feels looser.

When the weather turns cold again here in the Midwest and I can't get outside to exercise, I'm taking up yoga. I've followed it sporadically on Fit TV, and it's a fantastic workout. I like the pace much better than aerobics, too. I like yoga's peacefullness. I'm too old to be bouncing up, down, and around like a jumping bean...no aerobics for me, thank you very much. Give me slow and calm and steady.

DD, have that steak, just don't have the baked potato, unless it is a sweet potato, or the bread. I tend to follow the low carb diet, so steak is ok. You can do this.
