Hopefully, I mostly refute on sensible threads and sensible, intelligent misinformed and misled people which is why I enjoy your posts. Its not that you are not very intelligent, it is that you have not yet reached 40 and you know the saying. This thread made no sense from the beginning and is not worthy of debate.

I don't know who he is but it is his quote and it fits you well. On numerous occasions you seem to dismiss someone's posts or imply they don't carry as much authority as yours because they are younger. That's pure BS and you and everyone on this board knows it. You sound like a man who is pissed because he woke up one morning and noticed the wrinkles and grey hair. Dismissing someones opinion because of their age doesn't make them look less important, it makes you look jealous and angry.

All the above is true. What's your excuse on the other side of the spectrum? In other words, I'm not here to agree with you only to express my well founded opinions and I really don't give a flip what you think of me or what I express. It is every bit as valid as those expressed by you. As I have said many times, I don't post to change your values and ideals or anyone else's. I post so that the lurkers and passers by are sure to see both sides of the story. There is no doubt those in your camp will present their opinions and "facts". Oh, and you're right. If anyone should know about BS it is you.

At least I don't think like you, that I sit higher on my horse because I am older, have served in the military or whatever else in your life experience you think sets you apart and above others. You have no idea what anyone has experienced in their life so quit assuming you have been through tougher times just because you may have more years behind you. You are right that I know about BS, I've been reading your posts long enough to feel like an expert. (That last sentence isn't how I really feel, I just couldn't pass up the chance to use it.)

Touche! I'll ignore the rest of your post and only say at one time I was very insecure. As you may have noticed, that is no longer the case.

I'll give Andy credit, he also understands the internet forum golden rule of leaving it here. We've had a few beers together and although you would think we'd fight like cats and dogs we just leave it here.

I think the fact that we can all discuss this without having a rumble in the Seaside Amphitheater speaks volumes about this board and all of its contributors.

Now by show of hands, how many Tea Party members on the board?

Stop you guys, you are ruining my image.:D SWGB, at least one. I am sick and tired of both parties and a third is not a viable option, IMO. Candidates who stand for what tea partier's believe are, regardless of party affiliation.

Man you hit the nail on the head here. I am disgusted with both parties and truly wish you were not right about a third option.

I respectfully disagree with you on a third party not being an option. If you take out the polarizing issues the third party might be the party that can help get things done. Keep in mind historically this country has had more than 2 parties. It's been only recently that it's been dominated by only 2.

Right now we do not have a choice. Republican and Democrat are simply brands or fund-raising groups. Neither really stand for anything.
I will let others define the democrat ills but I know what the Republican woes are. For too long we chose candidates based on what they SAID they believed on certain narrow social issues (ex. abortion) as opposed to what they DID on those issues. Usually all they DID was give speeches; zero action. We did not care what they said or did on anything else as long as they gave great speeches. We even attempted to use GOVERNMENT to get what we wanted. This failure found it's ultimate expression in G.W. Bush, who said the right things about abortion and social issues but did nothing ,while spending the country into oblivion. But he is not the only example. There is a long list of "Republicans" from the national government to the state level and even the local level who think proper government requires more spending, more regulation and more involvement in our lives. These are not conservative principles. If you read the garbage coming from Tallahassee or attend any Commission , city council or School Board meeting in Okaloosa or Walton County you will see this in action.

More government is not the solution, it is the problem. I dare anyone to identify ONE "Republican" officeholder in Washington, Tallahassee or local government whose actions and policies say they believe that statement.
