We will have family-friendly activities available, including fire engine tours, kids' firefighter combat challenges, and live safety demonstrations from your SWFD firefighters.

This event will be held on October 10, 2026 starting at 8 a.m. at the SWFD Headquarters (Fleet and Logistics Facility out back), located at 911 N. County Highway 393 in Santa Rosa Beach.

#SWFDNews | Fire up your appetites, the South Walton Fire District is flipping flapjacks once again. The 12th Annual South Walton Fire District Pancake Breakfast is happening in Santa Rosa Beach on Saturday, October 10, 2026, offering a morning packed with all-you-can-eat pancakes and family-friendly fun.

This community tradition runs from 8 to 11 a.m. at SWFD Station 3 (911 N. County Highway 393) and admission is $5 for all-you-can-eat pancakes, while kids 8 and under eat free.

“Opening our doors to the community is the highlight of our Fire Prevention Week every year,” said SWFD Fire Marshal Sammy Sanchez. “This is a great opportunity to connect with residents face-to-face, share a meal, and show how much we care about keeping South Walton safe.”

Attendees of all ages can look forward to a full lineup of activities including a junior firefighter challenge, face painting, SWFD Fire Pup mascot meet and greet, bounce house, and emergency vehicle and equipment tours.

All proceeds support SWFD’s Fire Prevention and Community Risk Reduction initiatives, funding crucial outreach like free smoke alarm installations and local safety education.

“This event has become a favorite fall tradition for local families and visitors alike,” said SWFD Fire Chief Ryan Crawford. “Beat the morning line by registering online ahead of time, meet our personnel, and come learn more about what services we offer as your local Fire District beyond emergency response.”

Throughout the month of October, SWFD Fire Inspectors and crews will also visit local schools to share information about fire safety. This educational approach helped personnel reach more than 2,000 students and adults in 2025 with fire prevention-related messages.

The 2026 National #FirePreventionWeek theme is Lithium-Ion Battery Safety: "Charge Into Fire Safety. Safe Charging Is a Superpower." This theme, set forth annually by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), focuses on everyday charging habits that can help reduce the risk of battery-related incidents in homes and communities across the United States.
