Well I am back at A&F

Because I am so picky about where I want to work, I have temporarily rejoined my old cast of friends at Abercrombie & Fitch as an assistant manager. They know that I am going to be leaving in the summer to move off wherever I will be going to law school, so it works out quite nicely. Because you almost have to have a B.A./B.S. or be in college to work there, most everyone there is in the same situation that I am in--med, law, grad school deferments. Now if I can only get them to let me transfer to the Destin Commons store?

I'm telling you...these guys- and girls- were STRAIGHT out of the ad campaign. Whenever I'm uptown in the area, I walk in just to look. It's insane. 100% out of control.

Yeah. The jeans are behind a bar almost and you have to tell the guys what you want. And if that were the case with me...I would not be asking for jeans.

Yes we do wear flip flops, I love it. The clothes that are used on the visuals have to be damaged out because we practically pour a bottle of cologne on them to make the store smell nice. We also spray cologne on the lights so that the heat emits the scent throughout the room as well. A&F is stepping up its image this year, and will expand its Ezra Fitch line, sold in A&F stores. The goal is to eventually steal the major market share from Ralph Lauren. Another manager told me todat that competitor J.Crew will come out with two new concepts this year, Crewcuts--kids clothes, and a women's only store line which will compete with Ann Taylor Loft.

See the woman with the bottled water? They have concierge service in that store which offers the water and checks your bags for you.

Surprised to hear that about Crewcuts. Crewcuts has actually been around awhile; the Crewcuts store in our upscale mall closed several years ago, I think due to lack of business. I guess they've revamped it and brought it back. :idontno:

I think that's cool how y'all wear flip flops. Especially here when it's so dang cold. There are only 2 here in the city...the other is way way downtown. The 5th Ave store is gorgeous though. I actually did some work with the agency that does pr for A&F...we're doing an event with them for Puffy in a couple weeks.
