What is up with all of the Governors coming out in public saying that they cheated on their spouse, that both the Gov and his wife cheated on each other, coming out of the closet saying that they are gay, saying that they had three ways with the wife and the limo driver? I just don't get it.

The old saying is that the scandal isn't what topples a politician, it is the cover-up. I guess if they release the dirt on their own terms it takes the wind out the sails of political enemies.

I think that the more appropriate question is: What happened to keeping your marriage vows - forsaking all others till death do us part.

The more power (phycial, political, or monetary) the male has, the more testosterone level builds, an congruently there is a greater desire for "risk taking" thrills. It is true of our ancestral apes, and it is true of us at this point in our evolution.

Good point. I read an article this week about why powerful men cheat and you just condensed it for the other posters and readers:wave:

Except that someone will freak because I mentioned evolution, and that we humans have only partially evolved. Oh well.

I could see plenty of examples where that might be true, but if that is true for all males, it is very scary to know that men are involved at all with poliTRICKS, especially at the Presidential level.

Kitty, no need to check to see which elected governors and presidents smoke pot. I think it is a given that most of them do. They just need to lay off the cocaine.

"Results of the 2007 Monitoring the Future survey indicate that 41.8% of twelfth graders reported lifetime use of marijuana." (meaning that they have used it at some point in their lifetime.)

"Approximately 46.9% of college students and 56.7% of young adults (ages 19–28) surveyed in 2006 reported lifetime use of marijuana"

Where do you suppose I found that information? You guessed it, the White House Drug Policy.

Good post SJ. I can't remember which comic used to do the bit about the difference between pot, coke, and drunk drivers. Went something like this.Coke drivers will run you over, drunk drivers will run you over, pot drivers will drive 15 miles an hour in a 45 to get their munchies.
