:( This is a post I viewed on Trip Smarter about the Whispering Seas Condos in PC Beach! This was such a sweet and sad story I wanted to put it here and see if anyone could share any info about this place. If this still belongs in vacation rentals I am sure it will be moved!

I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the Whispering Seas condos. I know they are a small, older complex; but I need to know if they are nice?
There are several family members who are coming down in August and we can't get any idea of what kind of place it is. I am traveling with my daughter and her family. Her father-in-law, who is only 60 but has terminal cancer, wants to have one last vacation with his family and grandkids and wants to come to Panama City. They prefer a small place with easy bach access because of the kids and grandfather. They have chosen Whispering Seas. It seemed small and was reasonable.
But we can't find any information. Can anyone tell me "anything" about Whispering Seas, the pool area, the rooms, and the beach area?
We need to make it special for him.

Hoosier Girl doesn't have too many brains between the ears or she'd have found this in about two seconds flat, the same way I did. And that was only the first listing on Google. I'm sure a quick phone call to the tourist board in PCB might be helpful, too. Hoosier Girl needs to whine less about "no information" and get crackin'.

:lol: I agree and I did mention that to her to call the PC Beach tourism. Didn't think about Trip Advisor. Knew someone had to have some review info on this place.

Well, I don't think so as they have their own forums. Not nearly as good as this one though. I always thought message boards are for inquiring about certain things. People all over these boards inquire about things to do and places to stay, restaurants to eat at, etc. They too can search the internet but some get on here and ask other people on here. No difference from anyone on here and Hoosier Girl. What about satisfaction asking for someone to call their place they rent to find out if their renters are leaving Friday or Saturday because they obviously didn't want to do it themselves??? :idontno:

I think Sueshore means a PCB board or forum is needed since this one is about the South Walton area. Other beaches and areas are talked about, but most of the people on this board have their interests in SoWal.

I'm a big softy when it comes to families trying to make a vacation special for a dying family member (since almost every one of my family is no longer living due to cancer or terminal diseases). She's probably just not a savvy traveler, or very computer savvy. Kudos to you, Ladydebubba for trying to help her out. That's one of the purposes of this board is to ask your friends for help! :wub:

And not all people are computer savvy or have 24 hours a day to sit on a computer at home. Some people like me, have a regular 8 hour job to go to every day!

All I know about PCB is that I have a hard time admitting I spent spring breaks there in college! :funn: I fly out of there, but never ever go. And really don't hear much about it. Did it peak and now it's rebuilding?

Me too!! :oops: Those were some fun trips, though...
As for rebuilding...I'm sure others know much more, but last summer, we did a 'drive thru' of PCB and I have never seen so many cranes and construction sites for new high rises and parking decks.
In Atlanta magazine, there is almost always an ad for somewhere in PCB... (I don't have a magazine with me right now or I would tell you which resort it is.)

But I would think you'd have a little sympathy for a family that is going to lose a father. I agree with JohnRudy. I don't think the girl is tech savy. I run into people all the time that are like this. It is surprising in todays world but you and I are always on the computer so it comes so easy for us.
We planned the same thing a few years ago when we rented a gulf fron house in Water's Edge with my FIL. We thought it might be his last trip to the beach and it was. I'll never forget it. We all had a wonderful time together.

Well, you can imagine what we are thinking! Is that going to hold? Love going in the beach stores! I hit every Alvin's Island. And the Sunsations and the huge Shipwreck Ltd. stores.They are required to stop traffic when the crane is moving things over the road, so you shouldn't be hit unless the wind is blowing hard. Even if you get hit by anything falling from that height, you won't have time to worry about it. You will just be flattened. ;-)

I only know about SoWal.I agree, but my husband works at Motorola & he said there are young graduates that don't know what you mean when you say, "just Google it." It's pretty amazing how many aren't computer savvy, but are still learning every day. ;-)
