FRANCE WON!!!!!!

I will be a basket case on Sunday but for now I can bask in happiness!!!!!!

:clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1:

We were in Italy when they were in the final in '94 and were in a different town each time. It was great when they would win or lose.

Thanks for show of support too - LOVE your avatar...

Supporting France is easy. The French government very quietly made generous financial gifts to the French language schools in Lousiana and the D-Day Museum following our inclement weather last summer. :clap_1: I am sure the Italian squad is nice enough, but I don't like the way Mrs Skunk seems to be interested in them

Tangent Alert (but this is the lounge).

30A Skunkape, I enjoyed your reference to Katrina as "inclement weather." That has to be the understatement of the century!

Anyway, we are soccer fans in this household. It will be entertaining to watch the Italians over react to try to get a foul called. Such drama!

heh
Talk about performance art.
On another board I go to, someone posted a PhotoShopped pic of an Italian player in scuba "diving" gear. ;-)
My older son will be in Paris for Bastille Day.
If France wins, that city will be absolutely nuts.
Most of the squad is rather aged, though. I hope they can pull it off.

The french coach caught a lot of flack for pulling out some players who were retired to assemble his dream team - he was mocked and repeatedly told that the "older" players would wither compared to younger ones with a ton more stamina - he cleverly opted to prize maturity and experience over youth and it has certainly paid off - and it is great to see the doubters now have to eat crow!!!!

Bastille Day in France is nuts to begin with - if France wins it will be insane but marvellous - just tell your son to stay off the Champs Elysees - much better places to be.

OK - hope France wins........
