I understand what you are saying but if we all just quiet down because we all use oil then the status quo is maintained.

I'm with ya there! As an organic farmer/rancher, I try to promote solar energy and chemical-free living. But prices are high for these items. How 'bout a government ban on solar-panel price-gouging! (More than 80% of the world's solar panels are made in China anyway! Ugh)

I have a large family, but maybe if I got a horse and buggy to cruise around in, more people would too??? :dunno: I have threatened to do more than once LOL!

All of us who use oil/gas products are to blame. We, the consumers, buy the stuff so obviously they will drill for it SOMEWHERE. The oil is in the earth for a reason, and we humans just rape the earth without first knowing what kind of calamities we may cause on a large or small scale. Even the mere extraction of the stuff, without any spill, may cause ecological damage that we are unaware of until it's too late.

Nobody should be pointing their fingers at anyone else...we are ALL to blame.....:cuss:

If you want to take the blame go ahead but count me out. This same silly logic would apply if a truck hauling a tanker full of milk crashes into a day care and we proceed to blame ourselves because we drink milk and have children.

Indeed, or truck hauling boxes of Depends crashes into a nursing home and we proceed to blame ourselves because we urinate and have parents.

GEO SAID: "Yes, another Palin thread. Seriously, how so many continue to be enamored with this moron is beyond me.
In her latest note on Facebook, Sarah Palin is blaming "extreme 'environmentalists'" for causing the gulf oil disaster that has been unfolding for over a month. Her logic is that because environmentalists push for tougher drilling regulations onshore in places like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (also known as ANWR) it forces oil companies to explore deeper offshore drilling which has more risks."

YZARCTOO RESPONSE TO GEO:
I personally don't like the idea of drilling off shore...would hate to be sitting on the beach and seeing oil drill platforms, and worse yet seeing tar balls and oil gunk wash up on the beach that I love and live by. I do understand what Palin is saying, ...many of the environmentalists have imposed rules and regulations based on their extreme views...I also blame the greedy Americans, we build homes that aren't energy efficient, we drive gas guzzling cars, we use and waste energy, energy that we have to purchase from others. We also ignore the other energy sources that we could seek out...as long as Americans don't curb their energy desires and needs... then there will be more drilling, and chances of more "accidents". Our own goverment agencies and Congress (both Dems and Rep) are at fault too...for not regulating the Oil companies...so the blame is ours...we all are responsible for this spill.

I still get a kick out of many of you...Palin haters, you can't let it go, you still read about her, quote her, follow her on Facebook, and diss her calling her a (moron?)....I still believe that many of you are deep down worried about her, maybe you even fear , who knows maybe you have a problem with an outspoken woman,...she doing what she does best... she's "pushing your buttons." (and driving you crazy) You all spend too much time cutting her down, or blaming George B., that you ignore your own man Obama...doesn't it bother any of you the things that are going on in the White House and are coming out in the news (and not just on FOX), ...doesn't it hurt or isn't it a disappoint for you to know that the changes he promised aren't happening, and exactly where is all that Hope? Do you just shut out that part, avoid it, ignore it...maybe some of your "Palin frustrations rants" should be directed to Obama too. Do any of you have the courage to do that? How can you not speak up...you all have strong opinions about other things.
By the way, I find it funny that "angry rectum", found it necessary to create an account "yzarcpoo" and another one called "sweetpee". I must have hit a nerve for him to go to that much trouble. All I can say is keep posting...

Hi Yzarctoo,

Since I am the original poster I feel compelled to respond.

For starters, I don't hate Palin. I'm trying to eradicate hate in my life. But as you said, I do fear her and her influence. I believe she is the spokesperson for much of what's wrong with this country and is the epitome of what ails the Republican party.

I don't follow her (or any politican) on Twitter or Facebook. But I do read and find disturbing the news articles that quote her saying things like environmentalists are to blame for this disaster. Anyone who believes that *is* a moron in my opinion. To reiterate my analogy from earlier in this thread-

Palin's argument is just as ludicrous as if I said that locals who oppose 24 hour liquor sales are to blame when someone leaves the 30A area, gets tanked at AJ's on Okaloosa Island and then kills someone on their drive home.

I voted for Obama. But I am very disappointed in many of his decisions so far. I have no issue discussing his shortcomings on an Obama thread. This is a Palin thread.
