We don't need anything big or fancy-fancy, just a clean room to shower & sleep.  We'll be spending most of our time between Home Depot & working on the house.

There are several budget hotels in Destin. Try to find one near the Home Depot or between it and your place.

I did a rate check for the Sleep Inn by the outlet mall, and got $71/night (internet rate) for this weekend. Holiday Inn Express by Barnes & Noble for same dates is about the same.

Yes we do.  They're great.
One of the showers is leaking real bad, plus a few other things.  It's easier just to drive down & make the repairs ourselves.   I'm lucky to have married a man who not only knows everything about computers, but can build and fix just about anything.   :clap_1:

Ah ha!!!   Your man sounds great....a real keeper!  Mr. K is very handy as well, and matching his socks is one of my greatest pleasures!

ATorretto, I am lucky enough to have a husband who's the same as yours (right down to the socks ;-) ).  And you've just given me the BEST argument for a trip to SoWal.  I'll just tell Merman that whenever our place has minor problems, HE is the only one who can attend to the repairs, and of course his wife-moi--will have to come down as well, to supervise.   :clap_1: 

Seriously, though.  It speaks well of you that you want to make things right for your tenants.  I hope you get some beach time in in between maintenance and repairs!

Ha ha - I have the handy husband too!  He's downstairs happily filling up his new tool chest (one of those big ones on wheels- I know he is just falling apart with glee- or about as wriggly as an engineer can get :floor: ).  He fixes everything and builds lots of things.  And his socks match 'cause they are in his sock drawer balled up in matching pairs

I can personally provide a WONDERFUL place, for your stay. :clap_1:  It is a 2 bedroom 2 bath Condo at Dolphin Point in Destin. I had family to visit and all had a great stay, for the holidays! The decor is extremely nice, with all the comforts of home.  :D I'm confident that it will be hard to beat, for a relaxing stay! If you'll email me, I'll put you in touch.

I just sent you an email, hopefully I sent it correctly & you got it.
We are very interested & really need to make reservations somewhere by the end of the day. (oops also forgot it's a holiday weekend)  

We are glad to be finally getting down to the house this weekend.  Of course ideally it would be great if we could get a regular repair person to fix things, but that's not easy to do.  Our contact down there who does fantastic work at a good price, unfortunately, has more work than he can handle.
I told my husband he could have an instant new career down there if he wanted to do that type of work.  I'm not exaggerating either, he does beautiful carpentry too.  Even built a deck in our backyard you could drive a truck on.  It's that strong.   :clap_1:
