What developments/areas can I afford for less than $1k/month

Looking for a 2/2 to begin 6 or 12 month increments on in the future. Would love for it be as close to the Gulf and/or public water access, as possible. Preferably somewhere between Destin Commons and mid 30-A, south of 98.

The market looks to be saturated right now, but things could change if the short term market picks up. Would it then be hard to find the properties at all, or would the prices also rise?

Also looking for any links anyone can provide to help me in my research, and would love to find source who could mail me some magazines/rental books?
