8th Annual Hard Hats & High Heels At Hilton Sandestin Beach Feb 13
January 22, 2026 by SoWal Staff
There is a special kind of magic that happens when a community trades its beach flip-flops for work boots and high heels, all in the name of a good cause. This February, women from across the Emerald Coast will gather to celebrate strength, resilience, and the power of a helping hand at a luncheon that does far more than just fill a plate—it builds a future.
Honoring a Legacy of Service
Habitat for Humanity of Walton County announced that tickets are now on sale for the 8th Annual Hard Hats & High Heels Luncheon. This year, the event carries a deep personal resonance as it honors the legacy of Barbara Carver, a longtime Habitat volunteer who passed away in 2024. The Carver Family proudly sponsors this year’s gathering to ensure Barb’s passion for empowering others continues to inspire the community.

“Barb embodied the heart of Habitat for Humanity,” said Teresa Jones, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Walton County. “Her dedication to service and belief in lifting others up continues to inspire us. We are deeply grateful to the Carver family for honoring her
life and keeping her spirit alive through this event.”
On Friday, February 13, 2026, the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa will host the festivities from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Guests can expect a vibrant atmosphere featuring a plated lunch, signature drinks, and a variety of games, raffles, and a wine pull. Catherine Brennan of Whole Life Fitness will deliver the keynote address, focusing on the mental and physical resilience required to empower women in all walks of life.
The luncheon serves as the official kickoff for the 2026 Women Build Workshops. These workshops invite women to grab a power tool and gain hands-on construction skills while helping local families achieve the dream of affordable homeownership. While all sponsorship slots for the luncheon are already full, local businesses and volunteers can still jump in on the action during upcoming build days and spring workshops.
